ALL NEW PROGRAMS FOR OCTOBER

BBC AMERICA PRESENTS TWO BRAND-NEW NEWS PROGRAMS

BBC WORLD NEWS AMERICA

BBC AMERICA presents a signature nightly newscast showcasing the very best of BBC journalism in a new program aimed at U.S. audiences. Anchored from the BBC's Washington DC bureau by Matt Frei, one of the UK's most highly experienced foreign correspondents, BBC World News America will deliver in-depth reports on the major international and U.S. news of the day. Special packages from the BBC's expert correspondents will go beyond the headlines to provide context and analysis on the national and international events that shape our increasingly complex world. And from the DC studio, Matt will interview newsmakers of the day and lead roundtable discussions featuring expert opinion from commentators and major players. Matt will be joined by Washington Correspondent, Katty Kay, who brings her wealth of experience as a DC-based reporter to cover U.S. news and politics. Katty will spearhead coverage of the biggest U.S. story of the next year Campaign 2008.

BBC World News America premieres Monday, October 1, 7:00 p.m. ET

WORLD NEWS TODAY

A second daily newscast, World News Today, will feature a live update on late-breaking U.S. and international stories presented by Philippa Thomas. The newscast will also feature Matt Frei's in-depth interviews and discussions and BBC correspondents reporting on the biggest stories from around the world.

World News Today premieres Monday, October 1, 10:00 p.m. ET

LOW WINTER SUN U.S. PREMIERE

BBC AMERICA co-production, Low Winter Sun, is a film noir with a killer grip. The cinematic, compelling, thriller opens with the murder of a crooked cop. But in the murky underbelly of atmospheric Edinburgh, definitions of right and wrong, cop and criminal become anything but straightforward.

In the back room of a Chinese restaurant, a very drunkand corrupt beyond redemptionDetective Sergeant Brendan McCann (Robert Wilcox) is drowned in a lobster tank. His killers are his colleagues, Detectives Frank Agnew (Mark Strong, Syriana, Sunshine, The Long Firm) and Joe Geddes (Brian McCardie, Murphy's Law, 200 Cigarettes), and the motivation is revenge. The two cops will soon have to investigate the crime they've committedbegging the question, Is there such a thing as a perfect crime?

Low Winter Sun premieres Sunday, October 7, 8:00 p.m. ET/7:30 p.m. PT.

WILD AT HEART, SEASON TWO U.S. PREMIERE

Combining family drama, stunning scenery and gripping adventure, Wild at Heart tells the story of an urban clan who swap conventional city life in Britain for the excitement and dangers of life in the unfamiliar environment of the South African bush. In the second season, the English family who left it all behind to run a game reserveand more importantly, to sort out the problems within the family itselfhas now been in Africa a year, but their dream life is no less challenging. Sarah's (Amanda Holden) struggling to find guests for their lodge, and Danny's (Stephen Tompkinson) veterinary practice isn't bringing in enough money to pay the bills. Wild at Heart is the inspiration for fall network premiere, Life is Wild, on CW.

Wild at Heart, season two premieres Sunday, October 14, 7:00 p.m. ET/4:00 p.m. PT.

THE GRAHAM NORTON SHOW, SEASON TWO U.S. PREMIERE

Leave your inhibitions at the door and sit down to the most outrageous talk show in the U.S. The Graham Norton Show is a talk show based on the people, trends, stories and aspects of celebrity culture that interest Graham the most. Expect trademark comedy monologues, celebrity chat, eccentric stories and home-grown weirdness from the Great British public imported fresh each week. Great guests, great stories, great charactersall this, and Graham Norton, too, back for a second season.

The Graham Norton Show, season two premieres Saturday, October 20, 10:00 p.m. ET/PT.

DEAD RINGERS BBC AMERICA PREMIERE

Jeremy Irons (Elizabeth I) won the NYFCC Award for best actor for his portrayal of identical twin brothers in this chilling movie from legendary horror director David Cronenberg (The Fly, Naked Lunch). This psychological thriller revolves around two very different identical twin brothersone confident, one reservedwho work together and live together, but are slowly driven insane when they fall in love with the same woman.

Dead Ringers premieres Sunday, October 28, 8:00 p.m. ET/7:30 p.m. PT.
