Fox Reality Channel Concludes the Controversial Original Series, "Solitary 2.0" with This Year's Most Unique Reality "Union" Special

The Nine Subjects Meet for the First Time on "Solitary 2.0: The 'Union' Special" Airing Saturday, October 6 at 11 PM ET/8 PM PT

LOS ANGELES -- Fox Reality Channel, the only all-reality, all-the-time television network, concludes its second season of the controversial hit-series "Solitary 2.0" with a "union" special on October 6 at 11PM ET/8PM PT. From "Solitary," the first reality show that truly pushes contestants to their psychological and physical limits, comes one of the most unique reality show "unions," as the "Solitary 2.0" subjects meet for the first time ever and have the opportunity to compare experiences from the grueling tests and treatments they were subjected to in their isolation pods.

Viewers will hear first-hand personal accounts from the subjects themselves with exclusive insight on the strategies and reactions to the twisted psychological tests and challenging physical treatments they endured with "Val," the heartless computer host, as their only companion. Now they will meet their fellow competitors and have the opportunity to compare their experiences.

"'Solitary' entered into uncharted territory in the reality world," said David Lyle, President, Fox Reality Channel. "'Solitary 2.0' pushed the limits of human tolerance even further and now the viewers will get a special inside look at the subjects as they compare their experiences for the first time ever."

Todd Newton (host on "Remix" and correspondent for "E! News") hosts "Solitary 2.0: The Union Special" and leads the discussion and finally answers questions about their motivation to be on the show, why they quit and their toughest times will finally be answered.

"Solitary 2.0" will air its dramatic season finale on September 29 at 11PM ET/8PM PT. One by one, the subjects have exited leaving the final three contestants, radio personality Nikki Epel, dedicated environmentalist Tyler Tongate and freelance photographer Phu Pham - who will undergo the most challenging tests and treatments thus far as they battle for the $50,000 prize.

The first season of "Solitary," which debuted June 5, 2006 received praise from viewers and critics alike, going on to become one of the ten-most-downloaded series in terms of both season purchases and individual episode purchases during its first week in the iTunes store. As a completely original competition featuring nine intense personal journeys, "Solitary" steps out of the traditional reality show box.

"Solitary 2.0" is executive produced and co-created by Emmy award-winning producer, Andrew Golder ("Identity," "World Series of Blackjack," "Win Ben Stein's Money") and Lincoln Hiatt ("Unan1mous").

ABOUT THE PRODUCERS OF "SOLITARY 2.0"

Andrew Golder and Lincoln Hiatt are co-creators and executive producers of "Solitary 2.0." Their partnership dates back fifteen years to a start as writers on "Let's Make A Deal" for NBC. Golder, an Emmy award winner for "Win Ben Stein's Money," has produced more than a dozen game and variety shows including "Identity," "The Chair" and "You Don't Know Jack." Hiatt was the creator and executive producer of the hit FOX reality series "Unan1mous," and his experience encompasses a long history in both reality television ("The Contender," "The Family") and feature films ("Godzilla," "Independence Day"). "Solitary" itself is the ultimate voyeuristic social experiment and reality game show. Funny and macabre, it reflects the lighter and darker sensibilities of the two men who produce it.
