LISA ELIMINATED FROM "AMERICA'S NEXT TOP MODEL" ON THE CW

November 26, 2007 (Burbank, California) - Lisa, a dancer from Jersey City, NJ, was eliminated from the competition of the ninth cycle of The CW's hit reality series "America's Next Top Model," reducing the pool from six girls to five.

The girls traveled halfway around the word to Shanghai, China, where Jay and Miss J welcomed them before showing them to their posh penthouse suite. The next morning as the girls took a tour of the Shanghai Film Studio, they were caught off-guard when a group of martial artists attacked their tour guide, until they discovered that the demonstration was a taste of their upcoming challenge. The girls were taught basic martial arts poses before being hoisted into the air on wires where they had to strike their fierce poses mid-air. Several of the girls were nervous about the challenge. "I don't like getting off the ground, period," Lisa said.

The next day, the girls met with Jay and CoverGirl representative Brent Poer to shoot their commercial and print ad for the Queen Collection. Lisa struggled to memorize her lines as she still felt rattled from being in the bottom two and hearing the judges' critiques from the prior week. "The problem is that Lisa is only focused on failing. She instantly broke down in tears," Jay said.

During the judging panel, the judges were concerned with Lisa's inability to accept critiques and noticed that her initial charisma had faded. "We're not sure if you can handle the harsh realities of the top modeling business," Tyra told Lisa before eliminating her from the race to become "America's Next Top Model."

In addition to a $100,000 contract with cosmetics giant CoverGirl, this year's prize package for the winner of The CW's "America's Next Top Model" will include a contract with Elite Model Management and a cover and six-page fashion spread in Seventeen magazine.

The ninth cycle of the hit reality series "America's Next Top Model" on The CW follows 13 young women as they attempt to prove they have what it takes to make it in the high-stress world of modeling. Banks, who created the show, also serves as executive producer along with Ken Mok ("Making the Band") and Daniel Soiseth ("Hell's Kitchen").
