Star of Hallmark Channel Original Movie "A Grandpa for Christmas� Feels Like a Big Kid Himself This Holiday Season

Fifty one years after receiving his lone Golden Globe nomination for "Marty," Hollywood legend Ernest Borgnine is at it again. Today, the 90-year-old Borgnine became one of the oldest performers ever to receive a nomination for his performance as a retired song-and-dance man in the Hallmark Channel Original Movie, "A Grandpa for Christmas.�

"It's most unexpected, but truly appreciated,� Borgnine says.

History is on Borgnine's side, as he went on to win the Golden Globe for his work in "Marty.� Should he win again, he will become the oldest performer ever to win a Golden Globe, taking the title from Jessica Tandy, who was a spry 80 when she won in 1990 for "Driving Miss Daisy.�

"Jessica Tandy was just a kid when she won at 80, though I'm just getting started (again) myself!�

"The TV movie is a lost art, and I couldn't be more proud of 'A Grandpa for Christmas'. I look at the some of the past winners and it's humbling to be added to their ranks. Robert Duvall, Albert Finney, Jack Lemmon, Raul Julia, the list goes on and on. I'm proud to be the big brother to this group.�

TV viewers have already declared Borgnine the winner. "A Grandpa for Christmas� was the highest-rated cable TV movie when it premiered November 24.
