"Jericho" Season One Marathon Is Major Highlight For Science Fiction Fans

BURBANK, Calif. � January 28, 2008 � Universal HD kicks off an exhilarating February schedule showcasing sports, specials and marathons. Viewers can start off the month with football and drama in a four-hour marathon of the critically acclaimed series "Friday Night Lights." The sports theme continues with an eight-hour skating marathon in life-like high-definition. In addition to sports, themed days in February include an American Heroes salute on President's Day, a Valentine's Getaway and a night of big laughs with a special Super Comedy Tuesday. This month will also bring back a second round of "Showtime Championship Boxing," twenty-four hours of the fan favorite series "Jericho" and an award-winning themed movie block � just in time for the Oscars.

"Universal HD is the only source you need for high definition programming," said Dan Harrison, Senior Vice President, Emerging Networks, NBC Universal Cable. "We have an incredibly wide selection of programming guaranteed to appeal to everyone."

Universal HD mixes sports and romance on Sunday, February 3 from 6:00 a.m. � 1:00 p.m. (ET) with four episodes of the critically-acclaimed NBC series "Friday Night Lights," followed by figure skating with "The Music of Seal on Ice" followed by "Mrs. Dash Presents: Skate for the Heart Starring Celtic Women" from 2pm to 10pm (ET).

"Jericho" is back in high-def with a complete first season marathon on Saturday, February 9 at 10pm (ET) - Sunday, February 10 at 8pm (ET), giving viewers an opportunity to catch up on the dramatic series.

"Showtime Championship Boxing" returns for a second round on Sunday, February 10 at 8pm (ET/PT). This match pits Paulie Malignaggi up against Herman Ngoudjo, with encores on Sports Wednesday, February 13 at 8pm and 1am (ET).

Monday, February 18, President's Day, brings an American Heroes marathon with a block of first-rate classic movies starring Steve McQueen, Tom Cruise, Arnold Schwarzenegger and Muhammad Ali. It starts on Monday, February 18 with "The Greatest" at 10:30am and 2:30am (ET), "Bullitt" at 12:30pm and 4:30pm (ET), "End of Days" at 6:30pm (ET) and concludes with "Days of Thunder" at 9:00pm (ET).

Universal HD celebrates the Oscars with "Universal HD on the Red Carpet," from Tuesday, February 19 to Sunday, February 24, featuring six themed afternoons and evenings of movies paying homage to award-winning actors, such as Robin Williams, Sean Connery and Tom Hanks, and award-winning films including "Apollo 13," "The Russia House," and "The Usual Suspects."

Comedy Tuesday kicks off this month on Tuesday, February 5 with Super Comedy Tuesday and the premiere of Warren Beatty's political satire "Bulworth" at 8am and 12am (ET). The laughs keep coming with Tom Hanks in "That Thing You Do" at 6pm and 4am (ET) and Chevy Chase in "National Lampoon's European Vacation" at 10pm and 2am (ET).

Thursday, February 14 brings a very special Big Movie Thursdays in honor of Valentine's Day with a four-episode marathon of "My Big Fat Greek Life" from 6pm to 8pm (ET). The romance continues with "My Girl" at 8pm (ET) and "Simply Irresistible" at 10pm (ET). The day wraps up with the upbeat "That Thing You Do" at 12am (ET) and "National Lampoon's European Vacation" at 2am (ET).
