ABC Slates 'Jim' Return, 'Big Give' Finale, More
By The Futon Critic Staff (TFC)

LOS ANGELES (thefutoncritic.com) -- ABC has firmed up a few loose ends on its spring lineup, including a return date for "According to Jim" and the swan song for "Oprah's Big Give."

Here's a breakdown of all of said plans:

-- "According to Jim" will rejoin the Alphabet's schedule on Tuesday, April 15. Back-to-back episodes, presumably a mix of repeats and new installments, will air at 8:00/7:00c and 8:30/7:30c. The series, which previously aired at 9:00/8:00c on Tuesdays, is taking a month-long hiatus due to the return of "Dancing With the Stars." (Current Tuesday, 8:00/7:00c and 8:30/7:30c occupant "Just for Laughs" will close its sophomore season on April 8.)

-- "Oprah's Big Give" will slide to Sundays at 8:00/7:00c for its final two weeks - April 13 and April 20 - to make room for the return of "Desperate Housewives" and "Brothers & Sisters" on the former and latter dates. ("Here Come the Newlyweds" finishes its freshman season on April 6.)

-- "Eli Stone" will wrap its inaugural season on Thursday, April 17 at 10:00/9:00c but not before a special Sunday broadcast following the return of the "Desperate Housewives" on Sunday, April 13 at 10:00/9:00c.

-- "Desperate Housewives" and "Lost" will ramp up to their post-strike returns with back-to-back repeats of their last pre-strike episodes on Thursday, April 10 at 8:00/7:00c and Thursday, April 17 at 8:00/7:00c respectively.

-- "Men in Trees" will take a brief one week break on Wednesday, April 9 to make room for the "Primetime" special "The Last Lecture: A Story for Your Life."

-- "America's Funniest Home Videos" will broadcast its two-hour 18th season finale on Friday, May 16 at 8:00/7:00c.

-- The Alphabet's two-hour coverage of the 2008 Scripps National Spelling Bee has been set for Friday, May 30 at 8:00/7:00c.
