NUMB3RS (CBS) - TVGuide.com reported today that co-star Diane Farr has opted not to renew her contract and will leave the series by the end of this season. No specifics however about her departure were released. Farr originally joined the series in its second season where she was brought in to fill the void left by the exiting Sabrina Lloyd. Said report also indicates producers have begun casting for the role of Nikki Donati, "a 27- to 35-year-old ex-LAPD officer who joins the FBI in search of a "bigger and badder" challenge." "NUMB3RS" returns for its final six episodes this season on April 4.
OLDYWEDS (CBS, New!) - Shana Goldberg-Meehan ("Joey") has landed a pilot commitment for the Eye for a multi-camera half-hour about a couple in their mid-30s who get engaged and find that getting married can be more complicated when you already have a full life. Warner Bros. Television is behind the project, which Goldberg-Meehan penned and will executive produce.
SPACEBALLS: THE ANIMATED SERIES (G4) - The cable channel quietly confirmed to USA Today's Tuesday edition the long-in-the-works animated series will finally roll out on Sunday, June 1. No time period however was given. Said night nevertheless coincides with the network's premiere of "The King of Kong," the cult documentary feature about the quest for high-scoring stardom in Donkey Kong.
UNTITLED ED YEAGER PROJECT (CBS, New!) - Ed Yeager ("Still Standing") has scored a pilot order from the Eye for a new comedy about a middle-class dad trying to navigate new waters with his kids, his ex and his newfound romantic life. Yeager penned the pilot script and will executive produce alongside Ric Swartzlander ("Samantha Who?") for ABC Studios.
