THOMAS MOODY NAMED SENIOR VICE PRESIDENT, PROGRAM PLANNING AND ACQUISITIONS, A&E NETWORK AND BIO CHANNEL
NEW YORK � July 29, 2008 � Thomas Moody has been promoted to Senior Vice President, Programming Planning and Acquisitions, for A&E Network and Bio Channel. The announcement was made today by Bob DeBitetto, President and General Manager, A&E Network and Bio Channel, to whom he will report.
"Tom brings a track record of significant accomplishment to the table, from both the business and programming sides of our industry," said DeBitetto. "He is a talented strategist and has been a key driver of our success over the past several years."
In his new role, Moody will be responsible for developing and implementing the programming, scheduling and acquisition strategies for the flagship A&E Network, Bio Channel, as well as new initiatives such as the Crime & Investigation Network.
Since 2003, Moody has been the Vice President, Program Planning for A&E Television Networks, where he developed and implemented A&E's programming, scheduling and acquisitions strategies. Prior to this position Moody was the Director of Program Research for A&E Television Networks. Additionally, Moody has co-created and produced several original series including: "Find & Design" and "Private Sessions" for A&E and the upcoming "Watching the Detectives" and "The Chris Isaak Hour" on Bio Channel. Moody served a key role in spearheading off-network acquisitions.
Under Moody's planning and scheduling supervision, A&E has enjoyed unprecedented growth, delivering year-over-year gains in the key adults 18-49 and 25-54 demographics for four straight years.
Prior to joining A&E, Moody spent 10 years at the ABC Television Network in various positions including Director, Affiliate Research where he developed strategies to maximize ABC ratings and distribution among the network's affiliates.
Moody graduated from C.W. Post College with a BA Degree in Communications and Broadcasting. Currently, he resides in Long Island with his wife Michele and daughters Delaney and Charlotte.
