'TV Land PRIME' Hits the Airwaves Tonight, October 6

TV Land's Dynamic New Primetime Programming Block Includes The Premiere Of "3rd Rock From The Sun" And The Return Of The Network's Original Series "Myths & Legends"

NEW YORK, Oct. 6 -- This is NOT your Father's TV Land. Beginning, tonight, October 6, 2008, the network launches TV Land PRIME, a new primetime programming destination designed to appeal to the attitudes, life stage and interests of people in their 40s and 50s, catering specifically to people in their mid-40s. Equipped with a new logo, color scheme and on-air graphics, as well as the premieres of the original series "Myths & Legends" and the hit sitcom "3rd Rock From The Sun," TV Land PRIME will air Monday through Friday, 9PM to Midnight ET/PT with programming that is entertaining, engaging and escapist. Moving forward, all of TV Land's original programming, including the return of hit franchises "High School Reunion," "She's Got The Look," and the original series "The Cougar," contemporary television series acquisitions and movies will premiere solely in this daypart.

"This is a very exciting time in our channel's history," states Larry W. Jones, president, TV Land. "We're thrilled to have a destination where people in their 40s and 50s can go to find programming that reflects their stage of life."

TV Land PRIME kicks off this week with the following schedule:

-- Back-to-back episodes of "Scrubs" Monday through Friday from 9PM to 10PM.

-- The series premiere of "3rd Rock From The Sun" Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday with two consecutive episodes starting at 10PM. This Emmy Award-winning sitcom features four extra-terrestrial scientists sent to Earth to pose as a human family so they can study human beings.

-- The return of the TV Land original series "Myths & Legends" on Wednesday, October 8 at 10PM ET/PT. "Myths & Legends" attempts to answer all those burning questions that have been endlessly lurking in the minds of pop culture junkies for years. Questions in the premiere episode include: Did heavy metal rocker Ozzy Osbourne bite the head off a live bat? Did the FBI really investigate Disney's "That Darn Cat?" Was Marilyn Monroe murdered? The series is executive produced by Gay Rosenthal Productions ("Little People, Big World").

-- The uplifting series "Extreme Makeover: Home Edition" takes over the 11PM to Midnight hour Monday through Thursday with episodes including a modern day Brady Bunch still living in separate homes.

-- The TV Land premiere of "Police Academy" at 10PM on October 10 as TV Land PRIME's "Friday Night Movie."

TV Land PRIME will also offer advertising and sponsorship opportunities beyond the traditional 30-second commercial spot. Key advertisers will be able to integrate their marketing messages into the network's programming in unique ways during TV Land PRIME, including product integration, co-branded interstitials and convergent on-air and online opportunities.
