Los Angeles, CA, November 17, 2008 G4 goes inside a dark world few people know of and even fewer have experienced with the premiere of "G4 Investigates: Tech Fight Clubs." The special takes viewers to real fight clubs where grown men gather to beat each other until one submits or gets knocked out. The underground action takes place where one would least suspect in the suburbs of technology capital Silicon Valley, CA. Viewers will learn what drives these "tech heads" to fight with sticks, purses full of lead and computer keyboards for no money, no rewardonly pride and the satisfaction that they did it. Catch the premiere of "G4 Investigates: Tech Fight Clubs" on Saturday, December, 13 at 10:00PM ET/PT.
"G4 Investigates: Tech Fight Clubs" brings investigative reporting and reality news to the tech, gamer and online generation. The special takes viewers inside two very different fight clubs. The first is the Gentleman's Fight Club founded by Gints, a high powered Silicon Valley cubicle jockey. Gints like most of his members works for one of the several high tech companies in the area. But once a week, he leads a small group of like minded techies to pick up makeshift weapons and engage in an all out, no holds barred one minute battle. But fighters in this club are not your rough and tumble guys. They are IT and tech professionals who play video games and work on computers by day and fight to the bitter end by night.
The second featured club is the East Bay Rats motorcycle group and a visit to their infamous fight night reveals stereotypical, manly biker dudes who sport leather jackets, drive loud motorcycles and love their bar nights. Robbie, another silicon valley techie who loves video games, has come here to try his hand at some boxing. He is scared and has no idea what to expect as he straps on the boxing gloves for the first time, but he is quickly introduced to this new lifestyle the minute he walks into the ring. Tune in on Saturday, December 13 at 10:00PM ET/PT to catch the whole story.
