2009-10 BROADCAST NETWORK PILOTS (Various) - FOX pilots "Virtuality," "Boldly Going Nowhere," "Save Us Then the Whales" and "Sincerely, Ted L. Nancy" have been dropped from The Hollywood Reporter's Pilot Log in its latest update. Also seemingly getting the hook: NBC's "Untitled Jon Pollack Project." Both said half-hour and "Whales" had been cast-contingent. No specific reasons were given for the changes.
THE BIG D (CBS) - Ben Koldyke, late of the aforementioned "Boldly Going Nowhere," has joined the cast of the comedy pilot, about a New York couple who move to Dallas, where the man's Southern belle mother (Deanne Dunagan) clashes with her East Coast daughter-in law. He'll play Will Dupree, the husband, in the half-hour, which comes from Jackie and Jeff Filgo. Warner Bros. Television is the studio attached.
THE LAW (ABC) - "Scrubs" co-star Donald Faison has joined the cast of the comedy pilot, about reserve officers for the LAPD. He'll play one of them, in a role presumably in second position to his duties on "Scrubs." Cedric the Entertainer and Bob Fisher are behind the half-hour, which is based at ABC Studios and DreamWorks Television.
SONS OF TUCSON (FOX) - Natalie Martinez ("Saints & Sinners") has joined the cast of the comedy pilot, about a hustler (Tyler Labine) who is hired by three boys to act as their father while their real one is in prison. She'll play Maggie Williams, a kind second grade teacher and potential love interest for Labine's character. Greg Bratman and Tommy Dewey co-created the 20th Century Fox Television-based project, which Todd Holland is attached to direct.
V (ABC) - "The 4400" alum Joel Gretsch is set to reteam with creator Scott Peters in the drama pilot, a remake of the 1980s cult series. He'll play Father Jack Lowery, a Catholic priest who's skeptical of the alien Visitors. Yves Simoneau is helming the hour, which comes from Warner Bros. Television and HDFilms.
