LAW & ORDER: SPECIAL VICTIMS UNIT (NBC) - The network has reportedly closed a deal with Wolf Films to bring the veteran crime drama back for an 11th season. The news comes in spite of co-stars Mariska Hargitay and Christopher Meloni having yet to sign onto the new season. The pair made headlines in 2007 during their much-publicized negotiations with the network and studio which ultimately saw them taking home $350,000 per episode for seasons nine and 10. It's not clear where the respective parties are at for season 11 however with the economy forcing budget cuts across the board, a hefty raise seems unlikely.
'TIL DEATH (FOX) - Nick Bakay, a consulting producer on the series, has inked a blind script deal with Sony Pictures Television. The actor/writer, who also co-wrote the feature "Paul Blart: Mall Cop" with Kevin James, will develop and write a half-hour project through the studio-based Happy Madison. The company's Adam Sandler, Doug Robinson and Jack Giarraputo then will executive produce alongside Bakay.
WOMEN'S STUDIES (HBO, New!) - Tony winner Julie White is set to topline a potential new comedy series at the pay channel about "a onetime famous author who, after a tumultuous period as a feminist "it" girl, is now a professor at a small liberal arts college in the Northeast." Ben Karlin ("The Colbert Report") and Theresa Rebeck ("Canterbury's Law") are behind the project, which is set up at Karlin's Superego Industries. The company inked a two-year multiplatform deal with HBO back in 2007. Karlin, Rebeck and White are co-writing the story, with Rebeck ultimately set to pen the script. Karlin and Rebeck then will executive produce with White receiving a producer credit.
