U.S. PREMIERE OF BAFTA-WINNING FRIDAY NIGHT WITH JONATHAN ROSS

New York, NY June 4, 2009 BBC AMERICA today announced it has acquired the multi-BAFTA award winning chat show Friday Night With Jonathan Ross. The host, Jonathan Ross, is one of the BBCs best know personalities and has won four BAFTAs, a British Comedy Award, Broadcast Award and the Indie Award for Best Entertainment Program. Friday Night With Jonathan Ross premieres Friday, June 12, 8:00 p.m. ET/PT.

The season will kick-off with episode 18 of the current UK series. Joining Ross are Oscar-winning actor Dustin Hoffman, House star Hugh Laurie, footballer-turned-actor Eric Cantona, and U.S. indie rock band Gossip. Future episodes feature Ben Stiller, Eminem, Hugh Jackman, William Shatner, Glenn Close and Lionel Richie.

Richard De Croce, SVP Programming, BBC AMERICA said: "The wit and wry humor of Jonathan Ross is the perfect addition to the BBC America schedule. His interviews with A list guests from Tom Hanks to John Travolta to Nicole Kidman are always candid and frequently unpredictable. Best of all he fosters an atmosphere which allows guests to relax, open up and allow the viewers in."

In a deal, brokered with UK independent production company Hotsauce TV, co-owned by Jonathan Ross, the show will also air on BBC channels across the globe including BBC Canada, UKTV in New Zealand and the BBC Entertainment feeds across Latin America, Scandinavia and Africa. The show has been a ratings hit since launching on BBC ONE in 2001.
