NEW YORK, June 16 -- The Islamic Republic of Iran. For most Americans, the name conjures up images of angry Ayatollahs, mobs chanting "Death to America" and now possible election corruption but is this a fair representation? "The Daily Show's" senior investigative foreign correspondent, Jason Jones journeys behind the veil in search of any human decency among this nation of terrorists and will file reports all week beginning Monday, June 22. Tune in to "The Daily Show with Jon Stewart" every night at 11:00 p.m. ET/PT for "Jason Jones in Iran: Access of Evil."
"Jason Jones in Iran: Access of Evil" explored the vast gulf between the United States and Iran with Jones and producer Tim Greenberg visiting cities and sites across the Republic including Tehran, Qom and the Imam Mosque in Esfahan. In addition to attending a speech given by President Ahmadinejad, Jones spoke to a cross-section of Iranian society including a Zoroastrian priest, an Iranian family, an underground rapper and a feminist blogger. Jones also sat down with Islamic cleric Hojjatoleslam Mohammad Ali Abtahi, a former Vice President of the Republic, as well as Dr. Ebrahim Yazdi, a former Foreign Minister and aide to Ayatollah Khomeini.
