ASUKA KONDOH AND JONATHAN PLATERO ARE ELIMINATED ON "SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE"

TOP 14 FINALISTS COMPETE ON NEXT PERFORMANCE SHOW WEDNESDAY, JULY 1, ON FOX

Kelly Clarkson to Perform on Results Show Thursday, July 2

Finalists Asuka Kondoh and Jonathan Platero were eliminated tonight on the summer hit SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE. Kondoh, 25, is a Latin Ballroom dancer from Irvine, CA, and Platero, 21, is a Salsa dancer from New York, NY. This week featured special performances by Rock duo The Veronicas and Hip Hop dance team The Rage Boyz Crew.

The three couples who received the fewest votes after Wednesday's performance show were: Asuka Kondoh and Vitolio Jeune; Karla Garcia and Jonathan Platero; and Caitlin Kinney and Jason Glover. After each of these six dancers performed solo routines, the judges eliminated Kondoh and Platero.

Next week, the competition continues on television's most original dance show when the remaining 14 finalists (Kupono Aweau, Brandon Bryant, Phillip Chbeeb, Randi Evans, Karla Garcia, Jason Glover, Vitolio Jeune, Evan Kasprzak, Caitlin Kinney, Janette Manrara, Jeanine Mason, Ade Obayomi, Kayla Radomski and Melissa Sandvig) compete as couples once again on a two-hour performance show Wednesday, July 1 (8:00-10:00 PM ET/PT) on FOX.

The following night, pop sensation Kelly Clarkson will sing her new hit, "I Do Not Hook Up," and professional dancers Desmond Richardson and Patricia Hachey will perform a Pas de Deux before the judges send two more dancers home on the live results show Thursday, July 2 (9:00-10:00 PM ET live/PT tape-delayed).

SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE was created by Simon Fuller and Nigel Lythgoe and comes from 19 Entertainment, Ltd. and Dick Clark Productions. It is executive-produced by Simon Fuller, Nigel Lythgoe and Barry Adelman.
