FRIDAY NIGHT LIGHTS (NBC) - Michael B. Jordan ("The Wire") and Matt Lauria ("Lipstick Jungle") have both landed roles on the show's upcoming fourth season. The former will play Vince, East Dillon's resident troublemaker. Entertainment Weekly adds that "the junior running back can be dangerous and menacing - a result of his crime-riddled upbringing." Lauria then will play his rival, Luke, "a charming yet cocky junior who reluctantly finds himself playing for Coach Taylor's East Dillon squad." Said additions are designed to fill the void left by the upcoming departures of Adrianne Palicki, Minka Kelly and Zach Gilford's characters.

MIDNIGHT, MASS (NBC, New!) - Gretchen Berg and Aaron Harberts are developing a small screen take on John Rozum's DC/Vertigo comic of the same name. The project, which has a script commitment with a penalty attached, revolves around Adam and Julia Kadmons, "a sophisticated, sexy, globe-trotting husband-and-wife team who solve mysteries and crimes of the supernatural." Berg and Harberts will write and executive produce the hour, which is set up at the Warner Bros. Television-based The Jinks-Cohen Company. The company's Bruce Cohen and Dan Jinks then will also serve as executive producers.

SCRUBS (ABC) - Dave Franco ("Do Not Disturb") has joined the cast of the revamped comedy, which will switch to a medical school setting for its ninth season. He'll play Cole, "a charming, conservative, confidently stupid and incredibly entitled medical student whose family donated a wing to the school." Said character subsequently becomes an enormous irritant to John C. McGinley's character. No other specifics were given.
