''Full Frontal Fashion'' Hits the Sundance Channel Catwalk Beginning September 9th

Phase One of an Extensive Multi-Platform Initiative Launches with a Full Frontal Fashion Website, Including New York Fashion Week Coverage by Photographer Patrick McMullan and an Exclusive Online Exhibition of Photos and Films by Bruce Weber

Networks Week-Long Celebration of the World of Fashion Includes World Premiere of "The Day Before"

New York, August 24, 2009 - Sundance Channel will hit the runway in a big way beginning September 9th with the launch of the first phase of a multi-platform style destination inspired by the critically-acclaimed, popular FULL FRONTAL FASHION franchise.

Highlights of the launch will include a lively, content-packed website on sundancechannel.com which will develop into a stand-alone website by Spring 2010. Timed to launch in conjunction with New York Fashion Week (September 10 through 17), the new site will offer a sophisticated yet accessible look at the world of contemporary fashion, with news, exclusive video and timely dispatches from Fashion Week, parties and ateliers. In addition to the website, Sundance Channel will support Full Frontal Fashion on-air with a week of new original productions beginning with the September 9th premiere of "The Day Before," a series which goes behind-the-scenes in the final hours leading up to major fashion shows for Sonia Rykiel, Proenza Schouler, Fendi by Karl Lagerfeld, and Jean Paul Gaultier.

"Sundance Channel is excited about reinvigorating a dynamic fashion brand. Our plan is to elevate the way in which fashion is reported and give our passionate audience a front row seat to all the drama that epitomizes contemporary fashion," remarked Sundance Channel EVP and GM Sarah Barnett. "We have a history of airing fashion-oriented programming which provides unprecedented access and insight into this world of high-style, and now we are taking Sundance Channels commitment to fashion to the next level for audiences as well as sponsors. The exciting elements we have for the launch this September are, we hope, an inviting preview of our ambitious plans for early 2010."

The FULL FRONTAL FASHION site which will launch on September 9th will live on the Sundance Channel website (sundancechannel.com/fullfrontalfashion) and will evolve into a stand-alone site by Spring 2010. Highlights of the launch include:

Coverage and analysis of the 2009 CFDA Awards Show including interviews with Anna Sui, Alex Wang, Justin Giunta, Proenza Schouler, Scott Sternberg (Band of Outsiders), Kate and Laura Mulleavy (Rodarte), Italo Zucchelli (Calvin Klein).

A-list photographer Patrick McMullan who has captured the fashion world and New York society for more than 25 years, will cover New York Fashion Week with video reports from the shows, and he will also post a regular weekly column and photo diary with his highlights of the weeks fashion activities and events. In addition, McMullan will send dispatches via social media outlets, including Twitter.

Featured artists - inaugural multi-media exhibition featuring photos and films from Bruce Weber. Weber is an iconic fashion photographer and filmmaker whose work celebrates the beauty of youth. He is most widely known for his ad campaigns for Calvin Klein, Pirelli, Abercrombie & Fitch, Revlon, Gianni Versace and Ralph Lauren as well as his work for Vogue, GQ, Vanity Fair, Elle, Life, Interview and Rolling Stone.

Weekly columns by experts and newsmakers including:

Lynn Yaeger: Lynn Yaeger has spent decades analyzing, writing, and not least, shopping for clothes. Lynn was the Style Editor at the Village Voice and contributes regularly to Vogue and The New York Times. Now, each week for Full Frontal Fashion, she will focus on the way fashion fits into a larger historical context-why we want the things we want and why we dress the way we do.

Robin Sayers: Robin Sayers is an Editor-at-Large for the Los Angeles Times Magazine and Ocean Drive and a Contributor to In Style. She has interviewed a range of personalities from a Vice President to Brangelina, but her real passion lies in television and film. Robin will bring an insiders view to the intersection of fashion and film, including costuming and wardrobe and the references designers pull to inspire a collection.

On-air, FULL FRONTAL FASHION kicks off at 10:00pm on September 9, with the world premiere of "The Day Before," an original four-part series by Paris-based producer Loic Prigent ("Signe Chanel," Marc Jacobs and Louis Vuitton). In each hour-long episode of "The Day Before," an influential designer gave Prigent and his crew unprecedented access to the frantic final 36 hours leading up to the houses runway show. The series covers the global fashion calendar - from Sonia Rykiels 40th anniversary celebration in Paris in October to Proenza Schouler in New York in February, Fendi by Karl Lagerfeld in Milan in March, and Jean Paul Gaultiers haute couture show in Paris in July - capturing designers at this intense period in time when creativity and commerce come together. Debuting the day before New York Fashion Week kicks off, "The Day Before" is produced by Prigent, Deralf, Story Box Press, Lorraine Willems and Fabien Constant. Each episode is followed at 11:00pm by a documentary about a fashion icon, beginning

on September 9 with the U.S. television premiere of a documentary about Frances exceptionally stylish First Lady, Somebody Told Me About ... Carla Bruni (2009 George Scott).

Sundance Channel has featured fashion-focused programming since its inception, and for the past four years has organized films and series into twice-yearly stunts timed to New York Fashion Week in September and February. Among the series and documentary features to have premiered in this strand are "Signe Chanel," "House of Boateng," Mark Jacobs and Louis Vuitton, Lagerfeld Confidential, and Yves St. Laurent: 5 Avenue Marceau 75116 Paris.

The on-air schedule for the first week of FULL FRONTAL FASHION is as follows:

11:00pm Somebody Told Me About ... Carla Bruni (U.S. Television Premiere) - Directed by George Scott. A disarmingly candid profile of Carla Bruni, the stunning Italian supermodel who left fashion to become a singer/songwriter and who is now the First Lady of France. While Bruni offers frank recollections about her childhood, career and experiences, Scotts camera captures her at home and in the recording studio, visiting her family and nuzzling with her husband, French president Nicolas Sarkozy.

Thursday, September 10

10:00pm "The Day Before Proenza Schouler" Episode 2 (Original Production/U.S. Television Premiere) - Directed by Loic Prigent. Whiz kids Jack McCollough and Lazaro Hernandez of Proenza Schouler send out their Fall 2009 collection in New York in February.

11:00pm Marc Jacobs & Louis Vuitton - Directed by Loic Prigent. Considered one of the worlds most influential designers, Marc Jacobs is the creative force behind two of the worlds most successful and fashion-forward brands: his eponymous American line, and the venerable French house of Louis Vuitton. This witty, insightful film captures Jacobs at work on his spring 2007 ready-to-wear collections for the two labels, revealing a quirky talent who draws together disparate thematic threads - from cookies to Cubism - as he conjures clothes, bags and shoes that will be coveted by stylish women of all ages.

Friday, September 11

10:00pm "The Day Before Fendi by Karl Lagerfeld" Episode 3 (Original Production/U.S. Television Premiere) - Directed by Loic Prigent. The unflappable Karl Lagerfeld presents his Fendi Fall 2009 collection in Milan in March.

11:00pm Jack Taylor of Beverly Hills - Directed by Cecile Leroy Beaulieu. For more than 60 years, tailor Jack Taylor defined mens fashion for Hollywoods A-list, dressing Cary Grant, Sid Caesar and Elvis Presley in his custom-made suits. Inspired by his illustriousness and dedication, director Beaulieu chronicles Taylors life and historic career, paying bittersweet homage to a bygone era of glamour while recognizing one mans role in shaping it.

Saturday, September 12

10:00pm "The Day Before Jean Paul Gaultier" Episode 4 (Original Production/U.S. Television Premiere) - Directed by Loic Prigent. The final episode captures fashion at its most rarefied and magical, as it goes behind the scenes at Jean Paul Gaultiers July Haute Couture show in Paris.

11:00pm Lagerfeld Confidential - Directed by Rodolphe Marconi. Shot over the course of three years, this documentary offers an extended, entertaining and illuminating visit with redoubtable couturier Karl Lagerfeld. Filmmaker Marconi attempts to uncover the man behind the image as he captures Lagerfeld gliding through various milieus: backstage at Chanel, where he has reigned for 25 years; on a private plane bound for Monte Carlo; at a Paris nightclub, photographing Nicole Kidman for an ad campaign; in his cluttered Paris study, sketching dresses for his new collection.

Sunday, September 13

10:00pm: Somebody Told Me About ... Carla Bruni -Directed by George Scott. A disarmingly candid profile of Carla Bruni, the stunning Italian supermodel who left fashion to become a singer/songwriter and who is now the First Lady of France. Tuesday, September 15

10:00pm: Seamless Overshadowed by the glamour and hype is the sobering fact that making it in the fashion industry is incredibly difficult. Concerned as to where the next generation of visionary designers will come from, a group of industry insiders established a mentoring prize competition for young designers. Filmmaker Douglas Keeve (Unzipped) follows four of the most promising finalists, who range from the shy daughter of a dry-cleaner to a charming couple who sold their work to a major retailer while they were still in school.
