Big Brother 11 Continues to Post New Highs -- CBS Wins Another Week

"Big Brother" Posting Across-the-Board Increases Versus Last Summer

Tuesday's Edition Scores Largest Audience and Highest Demo Ratings on Any Night This Season

CBS placed first in viewers for the ninth time in 10 weeks led by the three editions of BIG BROTHER 11 which continues to post new highs in its 10th season, according to Nielsen live plus same day ratings for the week ending Aug. 23, week 48 of the 2008-2009 television year.

Compared to last summer's edition, BIG BROTHER 11 is up +6% in viewers (6.94m from 6.53m), +4% in adults 18-49 (2.5/08 from 2.4/07), +11% in adults 18-34 (2.0/07 from 1.8/06) and +3% in adults 25-54 (3.0/08 from 2.9/08). Each of the three weekly broadcasts is posting year-to-year growth.

Tuesday's broadcast posted the largest audience (7.98m) and best deliveries in adults 18-49 (3.0/09), adults 18-34 (2.4/08) and adults 25-54 (3.4/09) on any night this summer.

For the week in viewers: CBS (5.81m), NBC (5.56m), FOX (5.14m) and ABC (4.51m). Summer-to-date, CBS is first in viewers (6.76m), ahead of NBC (5.50m), FOX (5.22m) and ABC (4.73m).

For the week in key demographics, CBS was second in adults 25-54 (2.0/06, -0.1 behind FOX) and tied for second in adults 18-49 (1.5/05, with NBC). Summer-to-date, CBS is tied for first in adults 25-54 (with FOX).

For the week in households: CBS (3.8/07), NBC (3.6/06), FOX (3.2/06) and ABC (2.9/05). Summer-to-date, CBS is first (4.5/08), ahead of NBC (3.5/06), FOX (3.2/06) and ABC (3.0/05). Summer-to-date, CBS is the only network to be up in viewers (+3%) compared to last summer.

Compared to last week, BIG BROTHER 11 TUESDAY was up +12% in households (from 4.3/07), +17% in adults 25-54 (from 2.9/08), +20% in adults 18-49 (from 2.5/07), +20% in adults 18-34 (from 2.0/07) and added +1.20m viewers (from 6.78m, +18%). This is BIG BROTHER 11's best delivery on any night in households, viewers, adults 25-54, adults 18-49 and adults 18-34.

? BIG BROTHER 11 THURSDAY was first in adults 25-54 (2.8/09), second in households (4.3/08), viewers (6.75m), adults 18-49 (2.2/08) and adults 18-34 (1.7/07).

? BIG BROTHER 11 SUNDAY was first in adults 25-54 (3.2/09), adults 18-49 (2.6/08), second in households (4.3/08), viewers (7.48m), and adults 18-34 (2.1/07, -0.1 behind FOX). BIG BROTHER 11 SUNDAY matched its best Sunday delivery in both adults 25-54 and adults 18-49.
