PEGGY LIPTON SET TO GUEST STAR IN 'CRASH'

Burbank, Calif., September 9, 2009�Emmy�-nominated actress Peggy Lipton has been set to guest star in a key story arc featured in the second season of "Crash." The Starz original drama series returns Friday, September 18 at 10:00 p.m. (et/pt).

Lipton will play former hippie flower child knockout Suzy Fields, the estranged ex-wife of former record producer Ben Cendars (Dennis Hopper). Suzy is now married to Ben's close friend from years ago, Owen Fields (Keith Carradine), a legendary '60s author. Ben tracks down Suzy and Owen at their country home, where they still maintain their back-to-the-land '60s lifestyle.

Having risen to fame on the long-running series "The Mod Squad," Lipton won a Golden Globe Award and earned four Emmy� nominations for her role in that show. She went on to become a regular on David Lynch's "Twin Peaks" in the early '90s, playing the affable waitress Norma Jennings who ran the Double R diner. More recently, she has appeared on the series "Wings," "Popular," "Alias," "Cuts," and "Rules of Engagement." TV Guide ranked Lipton number five on its "50 Sexiest Stars of All-Time" list in 2002. On the big screen, she has had key roles in Twin Peaks: Fire Walk with Me, The Postman and Jackpot, among other films.

Lipton and Carradine first appear in episode six, "No Matter What You Do," directed by Vincent Misiano ("Medium," "The West Wing," "Prison Break").

Lipton replaces Valerie Perrine, who was originally cast as Suzy. Perrine explains, "I recently had back surgery and didn't realize it was a bit too soon for some of the strenuous physical demands of the role."
