G4 BRINGS FANS THE BIGGEST AND MOST DARING "NINJA WARRIOR" EVENT IN THE NETWORK'S HISTORY WITH "AMERICAN NINJA WARRIOR"

Special Event Kicks Off Saturday, December 12 at 6PM ET/PT and Continues Saturday, December 19 at 6PM ET/PT

Los Angeles, CA, November 30, 2009 G4 presents the network's first ever "American Ninja Warrior" event seeking out America's top 10 competitors to take on Japan's world famous "Ninja Warrior" obstacle course, Mount Midoriyama. "American Ninja Warrior" premieres Saturday, December 12 with four half-hour episodes featuring grueling tryouts and a cutthroat elimination process. The following Saturday, December 19, four more half-hour episodes showcase the 10 finalists as they travel to Japan to face the unforgiving Mount Midoriyama. Hosted by G4's Blair Herter and Alison Haislip, "American Ninja Warrior" debuts in special two-hour blocks Saturday, December 12 from 6:00-8:00pm ET/PT and Saturday, December 19 from 6:00-8:00pm ET/PT.

Since premiering on G4 in fall 2006, "Ninja Warrior" has developed a cult following in the U.S. and for the first time ever the show has come to the States with fans jumping at the chance to tryout. Hundreds of hopefuls from across the country came out for G4's open tryouts in Los Angeles, each determined to become part of the "Ninja Warrior" phenomenon. Traveling far and wide, hopefuls came from many different backgrounds, including a deputy DA, a member of the National Guard and one fan so passionate he convinced his local radio station to fly him to Los Angeles. Competitors attempted a challenging ninja-inspired obstacle course and were tested on strength, speed, and balance all requirements to tackle the four stages of Mount Midoriyama.

Out of the hundreds of gung-ho contestants hailing from cities across the country like Oakland, CA, Kinnesaw, GA, Kissimmee, FL and everywhere in between, only 30 made it through the first qualifying round. After two brutal semi-final rounds, only 10 contestants were left standing and earned the chance of a lifetime to go to Japan to try to tackle Mount Midoriyama. G4's cameras follow their journey every step of the way the good, the bad and the ugly as they head to Japan to give the legendary course their best shot, which has only been completed by two competitors in "Ninja Warrior" history.

Blair and Alison go behind-the-scenes to chronicle the finalists' arduous journeys and get their thoughts and reactions first-hand before, during and after their momentous course runs. From watching them gear up for their first tryouts in Los Angeles, to their grueling training regimens to prepare for the physically excruciating task ahead, to finally traveling to Japan for the main event, viewers won't miss a second of the action. While some reach the glory they so fiercely strive for, others return home empty-handed.

Experience all the heartbreak and triumph starting Saturday, December 12th at 6:00 pm ET/PT.
