"AMERICA'S MOST WANTED" REACHES MILESTONE 1000TH EPISODE SATURDAY, MARCH 6, ON FOX
After nearly 22 years of tracking down the nation's most notorious criminals, AMERICA'S MOST WANTED will celebrate its milestone 1000th episode with a special broadcast Saturday, March 6 (9:00-10:00 PM ET/PT) on FOX.
"Since the very first broadcast of AMERICA'S MOST WANTED, we've been telling people that they can make a difference just by making a simple phone call," said AMW host/executive producer John Walsh. "Reaching 1000 episodes, capturing 1100 fugitives and recovering more than 40 missing children are incredible milestones for me and the show, and I'm extremely proud of what we've accomplished."
On January 3, AMW was credited with its 1099th capture when a Florida motel owner recognized fugitive Paul Merhige from an episode of AMERICA'S MOST WANTED and contacted authorities. Merhige stands accused of murdering four family members, including a 6-year-old girl, on Thanksgiving Day.
Among its many accomplishments, AMERICA'S MOST WANTED has helped capture 1100 criminals, including 17 on the FBI's Ten Most Wanted list. The series has also reunited 43 missing children with their families, which is Walsh's proudest achievement.
Hosted by John Walsh, AMERICA'S MOST WANTED is one of network television's longest-running series and continues to be the No. 1 show on Saturday nights. Lauded by law enforcement organizations nationwide and internationally, AMW has changed the lives of thousands of crime victims and has put hundreds of perpetrators behind bars. The award-winning series is a powerful voice for crime victims everywhere and has no plans to slow down. As long as there are criminals on the streets, AMW will be there to hunt them down.
AMERICA'S MOST WANTED is produced by STF Productions, Inc. John Walsh is executive producer, and Steve Katz serves as co-executive producer.
