Los Angeles, CA: PBS/TCA Press Tour; January 13, 2010 -- In observance of Holocaust Remembrance Day, Sunday, April 11, 2010, PBS presents new programming throughout the week. From a new take on a literary classic to the heroics of those who risked everything to help those persecuted during World War II; PBS explores the complexity of the era with four new primetime programs.

On Sunday, April 11, 2010, PBS and MASTERPIECE CLASSIC premiere a new adaptation of The Diary of Anne Frank. On Monday, April 12, MacNeil/Lehrer Productions introduces AMONG THE RIGHTEOUS, the story of Muslims who protected Jews during the Holocaust; the special is based on the book of the same name by Robert Satloff. The following day, Tuesday, April 13, INDEPENDENT LENS explores the life of Hannah Senesh, a Jew living safely in Palestine, in "Blessed Is the Match." Senesh was captured on a mission to rescue Jews in her native Hungary. WORSE THAN WAR looks at the dynamics of state-sponsored genocide, from the Holocaust to Rwanda to Darfur, on Wednesday, April 14.

Thousands of hours of PBS programming are available on the PBS Video Portal. The Video Portal will release a special collection for Holocaust Remembrance by early April, featuring new and encore programming, at www.pbs.org/holocaustremembrance.
