Jason Aldean, Lady Antebellum, Jennifer Hudson, Miranda Lambert, Brad Paisley, George Strait, Taylor Swift and Sugarland have been added as performers on ACM PRESENTS: BROOKS & DUNN - THE LAST RODEO, an all-star concert special to be broadcast Sunday, May 23 (8:00-10:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network. These music superstars join previously announced performers Kenny Chesney, Rascal Flatts, Reba McEntire, Carrie Underwood and Keith Urban.
During the tribute concert special, Kix Brooks and Ronnie Dunn of Brooks & Dunn, the best-selling duo in the history of country music, will receive the Academy's Milestone Award in recognition of their 20-year, record-breaking career. They will be honored for holding the record for the most wins of any artist in the Academy's history with 26 awards in total, including three for Entertainer of the Year. They will also be honored for a record number of Top Vocal Duo wins -15 awards, eight of which are consecutive from 2000-2007.
Brooks & Dunn have had 23 Number One hits, sold more than 30 million records and won more than 80 major industry awards during their career. In August 2009, they announced that they will retire as a duo in 2010 and embark this summer on a final farewell tour, "The Last Rodeo."
The event, which will be taped to air Sunday, May 23, will take place at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas on Monday, April 19, the day following the live broadcast of the 45th ANNUAL Academy of Country Music Awards. Ticket sales will benefit ACM Lifting Lives, the charitable arm of the Academy of Country Music, which works to improve lives through music.
ACM PRESENTS: BROOKS & DUNN - THE LAST RODEO is produced for television by dick clark productions. Orly Adelson and R.A. Clark, Bob Romeo and Clarence Spalding are executive producers; Barry Adelman is producer and Bob Bardo is executive in charge of production.
