Planet Green Greenlights THE JOHN PATRICK SHOW

-- Six-Episode Series Featuring Acclaimed Fashion Designer John Patrick to Premiere on Planet Green in Early 2011 --

April 9, 2010

(New York, N.Y.) Planet Green has greenlit THE JOHN PATRICK SHOW, an all-new six-part series following renowned fashion designer John Patrick. Produced by Honest Engine Productions, the series is scheduled to debut in first quarter 2011 in VERGE, Planet Green's all-new primetime programming block.

THE JOHN PATRICK SHOW presents an inside look at the world of John Patrick, revered in fashion circles for bucking the conventions of high fashion to create truly sustainable style delivered as haute couture with his line, John Patrick Organic. Twenty years after launching his career in fashion, Patrick moved from Seventh Avenue to an abandoned warehouse in upstate New York and began his research on organic materials.

Four years later, he unveiled Organic, his pathbreaking line of cool, contemporary, conscious apparel. John Patrick struck a nerve immediately-the label landed on the racks of top stores across America, showed up in the pages of countless magazines, found A-list celebrity fans, and in 2008, Organic was named a finalist for the prestigious CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund award.

Set against the working environments of Organic's world-from its Albany studio to its pre-Fashion Week beehive of a studio in Manhattan-each 30-minute episode of THE JOHN PATRICK SHOW will follow the intense and wildly creative world of John Patrick and his team, as they mine the world of the sustainable and ethical to develop their striking lines. Amid a process that involves tight deadlines, always innovative design and a serious commitment to sustainability, John Patrick and Organic strive constantly not only to meet the rigorous demands of the fashion world, but also to stay true to a vision of high fashion delivered with an ethical edge. At PlanetGreen.com, John Patrick will post weekly blogs sharing his insights on sustainable design throughout the series' run.

"The nature of design has changed, and its future will bring a revolutionary consciousness. In partnering with me to produce the first truly conscious fashion TV show, Planet Green has shown an extraordinary commitment to that revolutionary spirit," said John Patrick. "I am confident that THE JOHN PATRICK SHOW will be one that does not disappoint-bringing surprises, insight and a look at the real' process of how fashion is actually made."

"John Patrick offers a rare, fresh approach to the fashion world, satisfying the fashion fix and curiosity of conscious consumers and style mavens alike," said Laura Michalchyshyn, president and general manager, Planet Green, Discovery Health, FitTV and TreeHugger.com. "THE JOHN PATRICK SHOW is vicarious peek into the perils, triumphs and payoffs of this industry from the viewpoint of John Patrick-a bona fide innovator and unforgettable personality who is reshaping the traditional notion of fashion."

THE JOHN PATRICK SHOW is produced for Planet Green by Honest Engine Productions. For Planet Green, Rachel Smith and Jeff Hasler are executive producers. For Honest Engine Productions, Nick McKinney and Meghan O'Hara are executive producers and Andrew Siegal is the executive in charge of production.
