E! ENTERTAINMENT TELEVISION ANNOUNCES NEW SERIES "THE SPIN CROWD" PREMIERING THIS AUGUST
Executive Produced by Kim Kardashian and Bunim-Murray Productions, the New Half-Hour Series Takes Viewers Inside One of the Entertainment Industry's Hottest PR Agencies Where the Biggest Divas Aren't Always the Clients
Los Angeles, CA, June 10, 2010 - E! announces a new eight-episode series "The Spin Crowd," which takes viewers inside Command PR, a renowned celebrity and entertainment PR agency responsible for the publicity of high-profile products and brands, as well as star-studded events and celebrity appearances. Headed by impassioned owner Jonathan Cheban and the ever-patient Simon Huck, this pair works long hours both in and out of the office juggling the 24/7 drama that comes with their hectic schedule, complex projects and demanding clients. "The Spin Crowd" originally aired as a half-hour special on E! in February 2010 called "The SPINdustry" and has reached almost 7.5 million viewers to date. The new series, which is executive produced by Kim Kardashian and Bunim-Murray Productions, was announced today by Lisa Berger, Executive Vice President, Entertainment Programming for E!
"Jonathan and Simon are passionate and funny and they have an unorthodox approach to their business that our viewers really responded to when we aired the special earlier this year," said Berger. "We're delighted to have Kim on board as Executive Producer of this series which chronicles this unique duo as they work with A-list celebrities, designers and formidable clients while managing to keep their young and sometimes inexperienced staff from spinning out of control."
"I am so excited to be working on this series with E! and Bunim-Murray," said Kim Kardashian. "I have known Jonathan and Simon for years and have no doubt that viewers will fall in love with their hysterical personalities. The series will also give people an exclusive, behind-the-scenes peek into the glitz and glamour of Hollywood and celebrity PR."
In the series, Jonathan, Simon and their ever-ready Los Angeles staff at Command PR will execute red carpet events, cozy up to their celebrity clients and try to stay agile enough to keep last-minute mix-ups from spiraling into disasters. The ladies who round out Jonathan and Simon's ambitious PR team will make sure the inter-office drama is always dialed up high. Katie is from New York and is a veteran of the publicity industry - but it seems even sunny southern California can't eliminate her irritation with the new hires. Little Erika may seem to be all sweetness and navet, but the passionate romance she's involved in threatens her career in more ways than one. Summer, a college senior and self-proclaimed "mean girl" with a flair for drama, is also a neurotic germaphobe who never goes anywhere without stocking her purse with a lint roller, a stain remover pen and enough hand sanitizer to render at least half of LA germ-free. Blond bombshell Lauren is a former VIP hostess who is ready to be taken seriously in a new career, but it's not going to be easy for her to hold her own in this spirited bunch.
Jonathan and Simon work hard to make their tasks seem like child's play from the outside but it's not at all as easy as it seems. While Hollywood may look like glitz and glamour, it's really all about swimming with sharks. This in-demand PR agency knows how to navigate treacherous waters of the entertainment scene while, handling their clients' needs and complicated requests with the utmost care. Command PR has executed highly successful events for companies with worldwide recognition like Miami's Fontainebleau Hotel and Belvedere Vodka, and has planned exclusive press events for Lady Gaga and Jennifer Lopez, among many other high-profile clients.
Don't miss the laughs, the tension, and the real spin on what really goes on behind the scenes of a PR power house when "The Spin Crowd" premieres this summer only on E!
"The Spin Crowd" is executive produced by Kim Kardashian along with Jon Murray, Jeff Jenkins, Gil Goldschein for Bunim-Murray Productions. Russell Jay serves as Co- Executive Producer for Bunim-Murray Productions.
