truTV Ready to Serve Up Second Season of Intervention Southern-Style with Return of Hit Series SOUTHERN FRIED STINGS in October

truTV is gearing up for a second season of its hit series SOUTHERN FRIED STINGS. This exciting show with a Southern flair follows a former state trooper and his team as they go after people they believe are engaged in illicit activities. SOUTHERN FRIED STINGS, which is set to return with eight new episodes beginning in October, comes to truTV from ZOO Productions and Studio Lambert.

SOUTHERN FRIED STINGS centers on Jay Russell, a former state trooper and addiction expert. Whether it's a loved one consumed by drug addiction or a person stealing a boat for a naked joyride, when no one else can help, Russell and his team of highly trained investigators are ready to serve up some of what they call "Southern Justice." Russell's no-nonsense team includes surveillance, security and canine experts, as well as his sassy sidekick, England Simpson, who doesn't hesitate to let Jay know what's on her mind.

When it premiered in April, SOUTHERN FRIED STINGS set a record as truTV's most-watched series launch ever among viewers (1.80 million); adults 18-34 (416,000); and adults 18-49 (881,000). Throughout its initial run, the show consistently ranked among cable's Top 5 entertainment programs for the Monday 10-11 p.m. (ET) timeslot in delivery of viewers, adults 18-49 and adults 25-54. It also scored solid time-period growth in each of those demos.

SOUTHERN FRIED STINGS is executive-produced by Barry Poznick, John Stevens, Charles Steenveld, Stephen Lambert and Eli Holzman. For truTV, Robyn Hutt serves as executive in charge of production, with Diane Best serving as executive producer.
