SYFY'S ANNUAL 31 DAYS OF HALLOWEEN UNLEASHES 600 HOURS OF PROGRAMMING TERROR

GHOST HUNTERS LIVE OCTOBER 31

SATURDAY ORIGINAL MOVIES RED: WEREWOLF HUNTER (FELICIA DAY) AND MONSTERWOLF (ROBERT PICARDO)

EXCLUSIVE TELECASTS OF HORRORFEST FILMS THE GRAVES AND KILL THEORY

SCARE TACTICS WITH TRACY MORGAN RETURNS OCTOBER 4

NEW YORK - October 1, 2010 - Be afraid. Be very afraid because Syfy is unleashing nearly 600 hours of bone-chilling programming during its annual 31 Days of Halloween marathon, running October 1-October 31.

Once again, the six-hour Ghost Hunters Live telecast will serve as the programming centerpiece. Airing Sunday, October 31, from 7PM-1AM (ET/PT), the investigation will feature cast members from the entire Ghost Hunters franchise (as well as many special guests), who will team up to take on the haunts at the inimitable Buffalo Central Terminal in Buffalo, NY. Built in 1929 and abandoned 50 years later, this decaying art deco masterpiece is a potent hotbed of paranormal activity.

Saturday Original Movies will be especially hairy, with Monsterwolf featuring Robert Picardo (Star Trek: Voyager) and Jason London (Wildfire) battling a Native American animal spirit on October 9, at 9PM (ET/PT), while Red: Werewolf Hunter premieres October 30 at 9PM (ET/PT). Red stars Felicia Day (Buffy the Vampire Slayer) as a werewolf-hunting descendant of Little Red Riding Hood.

During October, Syfy will showcase the best of theatrical and independent films, including the Saw IV network television premiere Saturday, October 23, at 9PM (ET/PT). Syfy will also present the latest spine-tingling movies from After Dark's Horrorfest festival for the fourth straight year, featuring The Graves on Saturday, October 2, and Kill Theory on Saturday, October 16, both at 9PM (ET/PT).

For a different kind of fright, Scare Tactics, hosted by Tracy Morgan (30 Rock), will return for its fourth season Monday, October 4, at 9PM (ET/PT). The series features set-ups by friends and loved ones where unsuspecting victims are placed into elaborately staged scary situations involving movie-style special effects and makeup.

Syfy.com will bring the scares online with its annual 31 Days of Halloween page, where visitors will be able to plan a macabre month featuring Syfy Original Movies Monsterwolf and Red, theatrical releases such as Saw IV and Silent Hill, and eerie events like Ghost Hunters Live.

Syfy is a media destination for imagination-based entertainment. With year round acclaimed original series, events, blockbuster movies, classic science fiction and fantasy programming, a dynamic Web site (www.Syfy.com), and a portfolio of adjacent business (Syfy Ventures), Syfy is a passport to limitless possibilities. Originally launched in 1992 as SCI FI Channel, and currently in more than 96 million homes, Syfy is a network of NBC Universal, one of the world's leading media and entertainment companies. (Syfy. Imagine greater.)
