MTV SAVES THE DATES IN 2011 FOR THE TWO BIGGEST NIGHTS IN MUSIC: THE VMAs AND mtvU WOODIE AWARDS AND HOLLYWOOD'S WILDEST EVENING, THE MTV MOVIE AWARDS
NEW YORK, NY (November 23, 2010) - MTV today announced dates for the biggest nights in music, movies and pop culture. Packed with unpredictable moments, unprecedented performances and appearances, the dates for the 2011 the "mtvU Woodie Awards," "MTV Movie Awards," and "MTV Video Music Awards" are as follows:
mtvU Woodie Awards: In its first move outside of New York City, the 6th annual "mtvU Woodie Awards" will air LIVE for the first time ever on Wednesday, March 16 at 12AM (ET/PT) on MTV, MTV2 and mtvU from the Austin Music Hall in Austin, Texas during the South By Southwest Music Festival.
MTV Movie Awards: The 20th annual "MTV Movie Awards" will air LIVE on Sunday, June 5 at 9PM (ET/PT) from Los Angeles, CA.
MTV Video Music Awards: The 28th annual "MTV Video Music Awards" will air LIVE Sunday, August 28 at 9PM (ET/PT)

For the first time ever, the 2011 "mtvU Woodie Awards" is heading out of New York City to Austin, Texas during the 25th Anniversary of South by Southwest and will be broadcast LIVE on MTV, MTV2 and mtvU. As the only award show to honor and highlight the music and artists voted �best' by the US college audience, the 6th annual show will be executive produced by longtime MTV VMAs executive producer, Jesse Ignjatovic, promising an unforgettable night of music and performances.
With over 3.1 million votes, the "2009 mtvU Woodie Awards" delivered the highest number of votes in Woodies history. College students established the "mtvU Woodie Awards" in 2004 and has since propelled numerous recognized acts to the next level of their careers - including surging record sales, headlining tours and mainstream notoriety. Examples include: Fall Out Boy (Streaming Woodie '04), the Killers (Breaking Woodie '04), Death Cab for Cutie (Best Video Woodie '05), Plain White Ts (Breaking Woodie '06), Gym Class Heroes (Woodie of the Year '07), Paramore (Woodie of the Year �08) and Matt & Kim (Best Video Woodie '09).
MTV Movie Awards
Emmy(R) Award Winner Mark Burnett returns for the fifth year in a row to executive produce the 2011 "MTV Movie Awards" in Los Angeles, where movie megastars will vie for the golden popcorn in award categories as only MTV could create them.
The 2010 "MTV Movie Awards," hosted by Aziz Ansari, averaged a 4.1 P12-34 rating making it the second highest rated Movie Awards since 2004. Additionally, last year's "MTV Movie Awards" had nearly 1.6 million video streams on MTV.com making this year's event the highest streamed Movie Awards day in history.

Jesse Ignjatovic of Den of Thieves returns for the fifth year in a row to executive produce the 2011 "MTV Video Music Awards." Ignjatovic and MTV collaborate once again to bring viewers the most groundbreaking performances and talked about moments from today's most popular artists that have become the signature stamp of the VMAs.
The 2010 VMAs averaged a 10.0 P12-34 rating and 11.4 million total viewers, marking the network's best deliveries for any MTV telecast since the 2002 VMAs (8/29/02) as well as making it the third most watched telecast in MTV's history.
