Star-Studded Extravaganza Moves To New York City

Honorees Include Bill Cosby And The Cast Of "The Cosby Show" And Michael J. Fox And The Cast Of "Family Ties"

PASADENA, Calif., Jan. 5, 2011 -- The 9th Annual "TV Land Awards" is moving to New York City, it was announced today by Larry W. Jones, president, TV Land. The star-studded celebration will honor Bill Cosby and the entire cast of "The Cosby Show," Michael J. Fox and the cast of "Family Ties" and more talent to be announced soon. The show will tape and air in April 2011.

"New York City is the world's biggest stage and the backdrop to many iconic television shows," states Jones. "It is the perfect spot to celebrate this fun and spectacular evening honoring some of the greatest names in TV, film and music."

"The Cosby Show" will receive The Impact Award at this year's show. This award is presented to a show that offered both entertainment and enlightenment, with comedy that reflected reality. Bill Cosby, Phylicia Rashad, Malcolm-Jamal Warner, Sabrina Le Beauf, Tempestt Bledsoe, Keshia Knight Pulliam, Raven Symone and Lisa Bonet will all be in attendance.

The Fan Favorite Award is being presented to the cast of "Family Ties." The series, which won viewers' hearts, starred Michael J. Fox, Meredith Baxter, Michael Gross, Justine Bateman and Tina Yothers, who will all be on hand to accept the award.

Now in its ninth year, the "TV Land Awards" pays tribute to classic and contemporary luminaries of television, music and movies. The ninety-minute telecast will feature exhilarating musical performances and will reunite some of the most iconic celebrity TV casts.

Previous honorees include Mike Myers, Mel Brooks, Carl Reiner, Garry Marshall, the cast of "Glee," "Desperate Housewives" and the hilarious sitcoms "Cheers," "Everybody Loves Raymond," "Bosom Buddies," "The Dick Van Dyke Show" and "M*A*S*H*." Past presenters include Academy Award�-winner Halle Berry, Justin Timberlake, Ray Romano, Steve Carell, Billy Crystal, Sharon Stone, Robin Williams and Academy Award�-nominee Robert Downey, Jr., to name a few. Past musical performers include Blondie, Diana Ross, Willie Nelson and Lionel Richie.
