HBO TO SHOOT THE HIT ONE-MAN BROADWAY SHOW "COLIN QUINN LONG STORY SHORT" FOR AN ALL-NEW SPECIAL DEBUTING IN APRIL

NEW YORK, Jan. 27, 2011 - HBO will shoot the current Broadway hit "Colin Quinn Long Story Short" for a special to debut on the network in April, it was announced today by Nancy Geller, senior vice president, HBO Original Programming. Recently extending its run at the Helen Hayes Theatre through March 5, the one-man show features the comedy veteran's take on world history and is directed by Jerry Seinfeld.

"Colin Quinn's hilarious performance has been one of the Broadway season's breakout hits," noted Geller. "I'm delighted that we'll be able to share Colin and Jerry's memorable collaboration with our subscribers."

Opening to critical acclaim on Nov. 9, 2010, "Colin Quinn Long Story Short" takes audiences through an uproarious history of the world in 75 minutes. From his personification of Caesar as the original Italian mobster to his complaints about ancient Greece and Antigone giving way to Costco and Snooki, Quinn is at his satirical best, taking on the attitudes, appetites and bad habits that toppled the world's most powerful nations.

TIME magazine raved about "Colin Quinn Long Story Short", saying "Quinn nails it! A polished act," while New York Magazine termed the show "brisk and Seinfeldian," and five different newspapers hailed it as "hilarious."

A native of Brooklyn, Colin Quinn began his career in New York as a regular on the comedy show circuit, making his TV debut as co-host of MTV's popular game show "Remote Control." Following five years on "Saturday Night Live," he starred in the Comedy Central series "Tough Crowd with Colin Quinn." His first one-man show, "Sanctifying Grace," was staged off-Broadway in 1994 and later produced as "Colin Quinn - An Irish Wake" on Broadway at the Helen Hayes Theatre. More recently, Quinn appeared in the 2010 Adam Sandler feature film "Grown Ups."
