HGTV Offers an Interactive Room Design Experience With New Series "Run My Makeover"

Online Voting Begins January 31

NEW YORK, Jan. 31, 2011 -- HGTV viewers who daydream about being a designer will now have their chance to call the shots in the network's new interactive series Run My Makeover. Beginning Monday, January 31, visitors to HGTV.com/RunMyMakeover can view photos and videos of a homeowner's room and then decide which design elements, such as lighting, flooring and paint colors, will be installed. When the votes are tallied, host Alexi Panos, her design team and the homeowner will then incorporate the winning selections into the spaceregardless of the outcome.

"Run My Makeover offers a unique opportunity for homeowners who want a room makeover and for our viewers who dream of designing a space on HGTV," said Kathleen Finch, general manager, HGTV. "We want our viewers to be armchair designers by logging on to HGTV.com, and then watching their design choices come to life on television."

The series, which premieres in July 2011, will follow the complete design transformation of a room based on the most popular items selected by online users. During each renovation, Alexi will surprise the homeowners by revealing the products and design choices that America thinks are best for the space.
