OWN: OPRAH WINFREY NETWORK ANNOUNCES APRIL 4 PREMIERE OF "KIDNAPPED BY THE KIDS"

Original Series Helps Kids Convince Their Workaholic Parents to Spend More Time at Home

Los Angeles, CA - OWN: Oprah Winfrey Network announced today the premiere of "Kidnapped By The Kids," a new series that helps kids convince their workaholic parents to spend more time at home. The series premieres Monday, April 4 from 9-10 p.m. (ET/PT) on OWN.

As parents everywhere struggle to balance the incredible demands of work and family, "Kidnapped By The Kids" finds out what happens when the kids are in charge. Can mom or dad learn to be a better parent from their child? The kids are done sacrificing their parents to their jobs, and are taking matters into their own hands. In this forced work sabbatical, it's goodbye to cell phones and hello to family time with the kids at the helm.

In each episode, a workaholic parent is whisked away for a week of quality time with their kids, and given an eye-opening wake-up call. No computers, no contact with the office, just much needed one-on-one time with their families. Not only do the parents find out what they've been missing, some also walk in the shoes of the stay-at-home parent to better understand and appreciate how they've kept the family going. The heart-warming journey culminates with an emotional commitment ceremony where the kidnapped parent confirms their promise to live each day together as a family.

"Kidnapped By The Kids" features parents with very diverse professions: a pastor whose kids never see him because he's too busy ministering to other families, a mother whose second job as a longshoreman keeps her away from home every weekend in addition to her 80 hour workweek, and a couple who work all hours of the week to run their recently opened beauty salon.

"Kidnapped By The Kids" is produced by Love Productions. Executive producers are Richard McKerrow and Pete Tartagilia. Co-executive producers are Emily Sinclair and Benny Reuven.
