WASHINGTON, March 11, 2011 -- Nat Geo WILD announced today that the hit series Dog Whisperer with Cesar Millan is moving to the new network, with 10 all-new episodes beginning production immediately. The new episodes will air in early 2012.

Additionally, the series' 141 completed episodes will begin their move to Nat Geo WILD this April as the series airs all month long on weekdays at 8 p.m. ET/PT. The show will continue to document Cesar's amazing rehabilitations of problem dogs, and will also include a special episode with dogs that have phobias and obsessions, a Valentine's Day special with home wrecker dogs and a variety of other new twists to the series format.

"We could not be more excited to have Cesar stay part of the National Geographic family, and re-energize the series as it makes its move to WILD for its eighth season," said Geoff Daniels, senior vice president, Nat Geo WILD and National Geographic Channels International. "Cesar has built a global franchise around this series, and we are thrilled that he has decided to continue the series in the National Geographic family."

"National Geographic has been my home for the past seven years, and I am thrilled to grow the series as we move to a new network, Nat Geo WILD," added Cesar. "My dream has always been to educate by rehabilitating not just dogs, but their owners, to achieve a balanced a natural relationship between humans and their pets. This show is the foundation of that dream."

"We're going bigger and bolder this season, with unique stories and intense situations that we've never filmed before," said Jim Milio, one of the series' executive producers.
