New Technology Puts Viewers in the Middle of the Action In truTV's Exciting New Series POLICE POV, Premiering Sunday, April 17

truTV is taking the next bold step in first-person action with POLICE POV, a stunning new series that will allow viewers to experience the intensity of police work through the officers' own point of view.

Incorporating one of the most innovative camera technologies ever used by law enforcement, POLICE POV will provide viewers with thrilling, up-close access to all the drama, suspense and action experienced by police officers on the job across the country. The series is slated to premiere on truTV Sunday, April 17, at 10 p.m. (ET/PT).

Known as the TASER AXON(TM) on-officer camera system, the groundbreaking technology used in POLICE POV was developed by TASER International, the industry-leading manufacturer of TASER incapacitation devices. It was brought to television through an exclusive relationship with the Emmy-winning BASE Productions, Inc. The specially designed cameras record an officer's point-of-view during every chase, shootout, takedown or confrontation as they patrol the streets of America's cities.

For the first time, TV viewers will be able to experience first-hand what it looks and sounds like for cops on the front lines. Whether facing an armed suspect, trying to save a comatose man's life, chasing a possible car thief through darkened city streets, dealing with a carload of disorderly partiers or serving a no-knock warrant at a suspected drug house, police officers must make split-second decisions, often putting their own lives on the line to protect the public. truTV's POLICE POV gives viewers the chance to see what it's like to walk in their shoes.

"POLICE POV takes the Cops-style genre to an unprecedented level by giving viewers first-person access to an officer's point-of-view," said Marc Juris, executive vice president and general manager of truTV. "POLICE POV delivers on truTV's brand promise by using innovative technology to immerse viewers in the riveting, fast-paced world of police work like never before."

Officer Mandy Curfiss of the Cincinnati Police Department wears the new AXON on- officer camera developed by TASER International and used in truTV's new series POLICE POV.

"We are thrilled to partner with cutting-edge industry leaders like truTV and TASER," said Mickey Stern, co-owner and executive producer of BASE. "Law-enforcement programming is among the most successful genres in television. Reinventing it for a new era is a challenging and exciting opportunity."

POLICE POV was created by John Brenkus and Mickey Stern who are serving as executive producers for BASE Productions. David Leepson serves as co-executive producer of the series. For truTV, Robyn Hutt serves as executive in charge of production, with Paul Bourdett as coordinating producer.
