SAN FRANCISCO - July 6, 2011 - After three stints on the hit CBS franchise SURVIVOR, including taking home $1,000,000 and the title of winner of SURVIVOR: MICRONESIA FANS VS. FAVORITES, Parvati Shallow is ready for her next adventure as the host of the third season of CBS Interactive's award-winning Web series, AROUND THE WORLD FOR FREE, presented by AT&T.

On July 8, Parvati will take off on a 100-day adventure with nothing but a backpack and an AT&T-powered smart phone and tablet. Traveling without any money or pre-arranged transportation and lodging, she will rely on the kindness of strangers and the advice of fans who will interact with Shallow via Twitter (@ATWFFLive), email and a special interactive map at CBS.com.

"Adventure and travel have been main priorities in my life since I was a child, and what better way to combine my passions than exploring the world while having no idea what will await each new day?" said host Parvati Shallow. "I am counting down the minutes until I will be discovering hidden corners of the planet, meeting people from completely different cultures and backgrounds, and experiencing human compassion at its very best. 'Around the World For Free' is a true testament to the generosity and kindness of the human spirit."

The adventure begins at 2:00 PM, PT, on July 8, after an appearance on CBS's THE TALK. Fans can immediately begin following Parvati's adventures at cbs.com/world, where they can read her journey log, watch videos and check out photos of her trip captured via her AT&T smart phone and tablet. Viewers also will be able to contact Parvati in real-time in order to offer tips for attractions to visit, a place to stay, etc.

AROUND THE WORLD FOR FREE has won multiple awards, including two DIVA Awards - for Best Video Series and Best in Show - and a Bronze Telly Award. The series has also been a Webby honoree. All three seasons of the Web series have been produced by Around the World Productions.

Parvati Shallow was one of the most popular castaways on SURVIVOR: COOK ISLANDS due to her balance and calm in the face of great physical and mental discomfort. Parvati was subsequently selected to return to compete on SURVIVOR: MICRONESIA FANS VS. FAVORITES, where she went on to win the title of Sole Survivor and the million-dollar prize. Most recently, Parvati returned for another all-star edition SURVIVOR: HEROES VS. VILLAINS in the spring of 2010, where she finished second after lasting the entire 39 days. Parvati was recently named the first inductee into Fancast's "SURVIVOR Hall of Fame" after receiving the most votes from fans for the best SURVIVOR player of all time.
