IFC GREENLIGHTS "COMEDY BANG! BANG!" AND "BUNK" FOR 2012 ORIGINAL PROGRAMMING SLATE

NEW YORK, NY - January 9, 2012 - IFC announced today the greenlight of two new scripted comedy series to join its 2012 original programming slate - Comedy Bang! Bang! and Bunk (working title). IFC has ordered 10, half-hour episodes of each series to premiere back-to-back in June 2012 as a one-hour original comedy block.

"With popular shows like Portlandia and Todd Margaret currently on our air and now the addition of Comedy Bang! Bang! and Bunk, IFC is quickly becoming known as a destination for top comedic talent," said Debbie DeMontreux, IFC's senior vice president of original programming. "These shows fit perfectly with IFC's mission to create fresh, original, off-kilter comedies, and we're thrilled to add them to our 2012 line up."

Comedy Bang! Bang! is a sketch variety show featuring celebrity guests, comedy sketches, and animation. The series is hosted by Scott Aukerman (co-creator/director/producer, Between Two Ferns with Zach Galifianakis; writer/performer, Mr. Show), and based upon his popular podcast of the same name. Music will be provided by the show's resident one-man bandleader, Reggie Watts (Comedian/Musician/Artist/Writer/Performer as seen on Conan's Live tour and on TBS as well as his Comedy Central Special WHY $#!+ SO CRAZY). Comedy Bang! Bang! is produced for IFC by Abso Lutely Productions; Aukerman, Dave Kneebone and Leo Allen serve as executive producers. Jennifer Caserta, Debbie DeMontreux, Christine Lubrano and Evan Shapiro serve as the executive producers for IFC.

Bunk (wt) is a game-show parody featuring a rotating line-up of comedian contestants performing absurd comedy challenges, created by Ethan T. Berlin and Eric Bryant and hosted by award-winning stand-up comedian, Kurt Braunohler. The series is produced for IFC by Avalon Television; Eric Bryant, Ethan T. Berlin, David Martin, Jon Thoday and Richard Allen-Turner serve as executive producers. Kurt Braunohler and Dan Lubetkin serve as co-executive producers. Jennifer Caserta, Debbie DeMontreux, Erin Keating, Dan Pasternack and Evan Shapiro serve as the executive producers for IFC.

IFC discovered Bunk (formerly titled Pointless) at the 2010 New York Television Festival and is the first-ever comedy from the Festival to be greenlit to series.
