SAVE ME (NBC) - Anne Heche has been tapped for the lead role in the single-comedy pilot, about a woman who lets herself go while in a broken marriage goes through a transformation where she becomes the best version of herself and creates miracles along the way. Her casting lifts said contingency off the pilot's production. John Scott Shepherd penned the Sony Pictures Television-based half-hour with Original Film's Neal Moritz and Vivian Cannon also serving as executive producers. Heche will likewise receive a producing credit while Scott Winant is attached to direct and executive produce. (Deadline.com)
TROOPER (A.K.A. UNTITLED ARON ELI COLEITE PROJECT) (CBS) - Aron Eli Coleite's drama, about "a common-sense mother-turned-New York state trooper," is moving forward to pilot at the Eye. Warner Bros. Television-based Bruckhimer Television is behind the hour, which Coleite, Jerry Bruckheimer and Jonathan Littman will executive produce with KristieAnne Reed serving as a co-executive producer. (Deadline.com)
UNTITLED KARYN USHER PROJECT (FOX) - Karyn Usher has scored a pilot order for her drama, about "the orphaned 17-year-old daughter of a CIA operative who is recruited to become an operative herself by a mysterious rogue agent/assassin who serves as both her surrogate father and professional mentor in the spy world." 20th Century Fox Television is behind the hour with Mary Adelstein, Shawn Levy and Becky Clements executive producing via their 21 Laps-Adelstein Productions banner. (Deadline.com)
AND IN OTHER NEWS... - Julie Benz, Selma Blair, Nicole Hiltz, Jenica Bergere, Elaine Hendrix, Kate Reinders and Shawnee Smith are among the actresses testing for principal roles on the Charlie Sheen-led "Anger Management" at FX (Deadline.com); Courtney B. Vance is bound for "Revenge" in a four-episode arc as "someone who gets caught up in a public scandal and romantic entanglement that Emily (Emily VanCamp) will leverage to further her agenda" (EW.com); Christian Camargo will guest on "The Good Wife" as "a filmmaker whose documentary on suicide allegedly inspired a young girl to take her own life" (TVLine.com); Lee Thompson Young will stop by "CSI: NY" as a troubled kid-turned-successful Manhattan accountant who becomes the victim of a violent armed robbery (TVGuide.com); and Twentieth Television has cleared "Divorce Court" and "Judge Alex" through the 2013-14 season (Deadline.com).
