MR. BOX OFFICE (Syndication) - Bill Bellamy, Tim Meadows, Vivica A. Fox, Rick Fox, Keshia Knight Pulliam, Jon Lovitz and Gary Busey have been tapped to star in the Entertainment Studios-produced comedy, about Marcus Jackson (Bellamy), the biggest movie star in the world who is sentenced to community service teaching English at the toughest high school in America. Rick Fox will play the P.E. teacher at the school while Vivica A. Fox is set as a cougar history teacher. No details were given about the other roles. Byron Allen and Scott Satin are behind the project, which they'll executive produce alongside Bellamy, Barry Katz and Carolyn Folks. "Box Office" is being targeted for a fall launch alongside fellow entry "The First Family." (Deadline.com)
AND IN OTHER NEWS... - NBC has reportedly given the producers of its comedy pilot "Friday Night Dinner" permission to start making staffing offers (Deadline.com); "'Til Death" co-creators Cathy Yuspa and Josh Goldsmith have inked a two-year overall deal with 20th Century Fox Television, ending their 15-year run at Sony Pictures Television (Deadline.com); "Community" executive producers Neil Goldman and Garrett Donovan likewise have set up shop at 20th Century Fox Television, where they'll develop new series proejcts (Deadline.com); William Mapother is set to guest star on "Burn Notice" as the leader of a team of mercenaries hired to kill Paul Tei's money launderer Barry Burkowski (THR.com); Alana de la Garza will drop by VH1's "Single Ladies" as a former supermodel who hires Keisha (LisaRaye McCoy) as her real estate agent (TVLine.com); Zooey Deschanel, Natalie Portman, Anne Hathaway, Sarah Michelle Gellar and Sarah Silverman will all make cameos in an upcoming episode of "The Simpsons" in which Bart revisits his previous loves (EW.com); Dan Auerbach and Patrick Carney of The Black Keys will guest on "Workaholics" as two dirtbags who cross paths with the show's central trio in small claims court (EW.com); and George Litto has filed suit against the estate of Leonard Freeman over being deprived of the relevant income and rights for CBS's "Hawaii Five-0" revival (Deadline.com).
