"Wheel of Fortune" to Cap 30th Anniversary Season at New York's Madison Square Garden

New York, NY (May 23, 2012) - America's Favorite Game Show is returning to "The Big Apple" next spring to tape four weeks of shows in the Theater at Madison Square Garden. Pat Sajak and Vanna White made the announcement today live on WABC-TV, Channel 7, while on location in Central Park.

The shows will tape on March 15, 16, 18 & 19 and will be broadcast nationally in May 2013. This will mark Wheel Of Fortune's fifth on-location remote in New York City since 1988.

While in New York this week, Pat, Vanna and the Wheel of Fortune production team are pre-taping segments at some of the city's signature attractions and landmarks including The Metropolitan Museum of Art, Washington Square and multiple locations in Central Park. Pat and Vanna will also tour the city on a Gray Line double-decker bus through Times Square, past the Public Library and Grand Central, followed by a trip on the Water Taxi to take in views of the skyline.

Pat and Vanna will also be participating in a ribbon cutting ceremony to unveil a unique decal permanently applied to one iconic, red Gray Line New York double-decker bus inducting Wheel of Fortune into the bus line's "Ride of Fame." "Ride of Fame" is a series of mobile monuments celebrating public figures who have represented New York positively in all of his or her endeavors and has proven why New York is the best city in the United States.

In the months prior to the tapings, Wheel of Fortune will be looking for contestants from around the New York area with online contestant searches through Sony's Face of the Fan platform and local contestant auditions. For more information, viewers should tune into WABC 7 or log on to http://abclocal.go.com/wabc.

Wheel of Fortune is seen weeknights at 7:30 p.m. on WABC-TV, Channel 7.

Wheel of Fortune has been the number one syndicated game show since its inception and has earned six Emmy Awards, including the 2011 Daytime Emmy for Outstanding Game/Audience Participation Show. With more than 30 million viewers per week, syndication's most successful series continues to attract a larger audience than many primetime television shows. Wheel of Fortune is produced in High Definition by Sony Pictures Television, a Sony Pictures Entertainment Company. It is distributed domestically by CBS Television Distribution and internationally by CBS Studios International, both units of CBS Corp.
