ANIMAL PRACTICE (NBC) - JoAnna Garcia ("Better with You") has been cast as the new female lead in the comedy, about George Coleman (Justin Kirk), a veterinarian who loves animals but usually hates their owners. She'll play Dorothy Crane, George's ex-girlfriend who returns to his life as the new hospital director... with a fianceé in tow. Amy Huberman originated the role in the pilot. Bobby Lee, Tyler Labine, Betsy Sodaro and Kym Whitley also star in the Universal Television-based half-hour, from co-creators Brian Gatewood and Alessandro Tanaka. Garcia spent the past development cycle as the female lead of "Oh F---, It's You," a comedy pilot which didn't move forward to series at CBS. (Deadline.com)
AND IN OTHER NEWS... - "The Simpsons" mainstay Mike Scully has inked a seven-figure, multi-year overall deal with 20th Century Fox Television where he'll develop new series projects as well as join the studio's new NBC comedy "The New Normal" as a co-executive producer (Deadline.com); Grant Bowler has been tapped to star opposite Lindsay Lohan in Lifetime's Elizabeth Taylor/Richard Burton biopic "Liz & Dick" (Deadline.com); and Vanessa Ray will guest on "Pretty Little Liars" as Jason's (Drew Van Acker) ex-girlfriend and "the person that schooled Alison (Sasha Pieterse) in the wicked ways of the world" (TVLine.com).

Paramount to Acquire Warner Bros. Discovery to Form Next-Generation Global Media and Entertainment Company
The transaction has been unanimously approved by the Boards of Directors of both companies and is expected to close in Q3 2026, subject to customary closing conditions, including regulatory clearances and approval by WBD shareholders, with a vote expected in the early spring of 2026.
