MTV UNLEASHES MARATHON MANIA IN ADVANCE OF THE "2012 MTV MOVIE AWARDS," WITH THE COMPLETE FIRST SEASON OF "AWKWARD" AIRING SATURDAY, JUNE 2, AND FULL SEASON TO DATE OF "PUNK'D" AIRING SUNDAY, JUNE 3, LEADING UP TO THE BIG SHOW
NEW YORK, NY (May 30, 2012) - MTV is delivering a healthy dose of "Punk'd" mayhem and "Awkward" moments, with a weekend full of marathons leading up to the "2012 MTV Movie Awards" on Sunday, June 3. To kick it off, the cast of the hit scripted comedy series "Awkward" will host an encore airing of the entire first season, on Saturday, June 2, from 12:00 p.m.-6:00 p.m. ET/PT. Then on Sunday, June 3, beginning at 3:00 p.m. ET/PT, MTV treats viewers to a "Punk'd" marathon featuring all the episodes from this season to date, followed by the "2012 MTV Movie Awards Punk'd Pre-Party" at 8:00 p.m. ET/PT, featuring legendary "Punk'd" host Ashton Kutcher, who returns to host an all-new episode. This all leads directly into the "2012 MTV Movie Awards," which will air live at 9:00 p.m. ET/PT, followed immediately by the season two premiere of scripted drama series "Teen Wolf" at 11:00 p.m. ET/PT on MTV.
Join the cast of "Awkward" on Saturday, June 2, as they relive everything from season one, beginning with the misunderstanding of epic proportions, to who really wrote the "Carefrontation" letter, and whether Jenna chose Jake over Matty. In addition to all 12 episodes, the marathon will also feature a special sneak peek of what's to come in season two. A brand new season of "Awkward" premieres on Thursday, June 28 at 10:30 p.m. ET/PT on MTV, immediately following an all-new episode of "Snooki & JWOWW." "Awkward" stars Ashley Rickards as Jenna, Beau Mirchoff as Matty, Molly Tarlov as Sadie, Jillian Rose Reed as Tamara, Brett Davern as Jake, Nikki DeLoach as Lacey, Desi Lydic as Valerie, Jessica Lu as Ming, Mike Faiola as Kevin and Greer Grammer as Lissa. "Awkward" was created by Lauren Iungerich. Iungerich and Erin Ehrlich serve as executive producers.
On Sunday, June 3, "Punk'd" fans are treated to a current-season marathon featuring ten episodes hosted by fan-favorite celebrities, including Justin Bieber, Bam Magera, Hayden Panettiere, Tyler the Creator, Lucy Hale, Nick Cannon, Dax Shepard, Heather Morris and Miley Cyrus, starting at 3:00 p.m. ET/PT. Immediately following the marathon, MTV's legendary "Punk'd" host Ashton Kutcher returns to host a special all-new episode on Sunday, June 3 at 8:00 P.M. ET/PT on MTV, as part of the "2012 MTV Movie Awards Punk'd Pre-Party."
