JOY BEHAR TO ANCHOR NEW PRIMETIME SHOW "THE JOY BEHAR SHOW" FOR CURRENT TV BEGINNING SEPTEMBER

One of TV's Most Irreverent and Outspoken Personalities Will Also Host "Joy Behar: One Week Only *Until the Fall" During the Week of June 18th

New York, June 11, 2012 - Beginning this September, Joy Behar, Emmy(R) award winning talk show host, will make her return to primetime on Current TV's new hour-long series. "The Joy Behar Show" (working title) will air nightly Monday through Thursday at 6pm and will repeat later the same evening in primetime. The timely and topical series will showcase Behar's trademark sense of humor and unique brand of conversation and provide her with a platform to discuss the latest headlines, pop culture events and anything else that comes to mind.

Featuring a regular rotating ensemble of journalists, analysts and political satirists the program will focus on political events, social issues and relevant topics that impact the American zeitgeist. Her ensemble cast, title and premiere date will be announced later this summer.

Though the show will not begin airing on Current TV until September, Behar will guest anchor a week on the network beginning June 18th while Governor Eliot Spitzer, host of "Viewpoint" will be on a scheduled summer vacation. "Joy Behar: One Week Only *Until the Fall" will air Monday through Friday that week at 8p ET/ 7p CT and will offer viewers a taste of her upcoming nightly show, featuring conversations with a mix of journalists, newsmakers and celebrities.

"Joy Behar is a beloved veteran television personality with her finger on the pulse of what viewers care about," commented Current TV Chairman and former Vice President Al Gore. "Millions of Americans tune in daily to hear her take on the issues along with her inimitable style. We are honored that Current TV will be Joy's new primetime home."

Behar is an award-winning talk show host, comedian, writer and actress. Since 1997, she has also been a co-host of the long-running "The View" and was host of "The Joy Behar Show" on HLN until late last year.

Behar got her start in show business in the early 1980s as a stand-up comedian. In 1987 she had a talk show on Lifetime Television called "Way Off Broadway." From there she continued to work the comedy club circuit, was a regular on NBC's "Baby Boom," and appeared in films including "Cookie," "This is My Life" and "Manhattan Murder Mystery."

In 1997 Behar became one of the original cast members of Barbara Walters's ABC television creation, "The View." Beginning in 2007, she also occasionally filled in as a guest host on "Larry King Live." On June 11, 2009, Behar announced that she would be hosting her own news and talk program on CNN's HLN beginning in the fall of 2009, titled "The Joy Behar Show." She did not leave "The View," but worked on both shows simultaneously. The final broadcast of the "The Joy Behar Show" was on December 15, 2011.
