TLC Orders Second Season of "My Big Fat American Gypsy Wedding"

TLC ORDERS SECOND SEASON OF "MY BIG FAT AMERICAN GYPSY WEDDING"

NETWORK ALSO GREENLIGHTS REUNION SPECIAL AND ADDITIONAL EPISODE FEATURING THE STANLEY SISTERS

TLC has ordered a second season of its hit series MY BIG FAT AMERICAN GYPSY WEDDING, the network announced today. The series, which shares the hidden culture and over-the-top celebrations of American Gypsies, has averaged 1.6 million viewers to date. The series finale, titled ""Blingtastic Baptism," airs Sunday, June 17 at 10/9c.

TLC has also ordered a new one-hour special titled MY BIG FAT AMERICAN GYPSY WEDDING: THE STANLEY SISTERS, featuring Gypsy sisters Nettie, Mellie, Kayla and Laura, who have been featured in throughout the of the series, including the highest-rated episode - reaching 1.9M viewers on June 3. In this special - airing July 1 at 9/8c - the focus shifts from planning parties to family dynamics as the sisters come together in Martinsburg, WV, revealing that things are far from perfect in their lives.Mellie continues her wild ways and risks the family's reputation by dancing at the local strip club, so Nettie decides to intervene and shows up at the club to embarrass her sister - leading to an uncomfortable confrontation. Meanwhile, Nettie's 14 year-old daughter has run off with her 17 year-old boyfriend and the Stanleys are desperate to have her back - and will do whatever it takes to get her home safe. They set off to find her, and the boyfriend's grandmother and aunt get involved, leading to an epic battle between the feuding families.

Immediately following the special, on July 1 at 10/9c, the network will air a reunion special - MY BIG FAT AMERICAN GYPSY WEDDING: THE AFTERMATH - bringing back together some of the most outspoken members of the Gypsy community. Throughout the hour, the cast will update on their lives since filming their episodes, explain the traditions that are central to the Gypsy culture's, and expose the conflicts that exist within this tightknit community.

Firecracker Films produces MY BIG FAT AMERICAN GYPSY WEDDING for TLC, while Peacock Productions is producing the MY BIG FAT AMERICAN GYPSY WEDDING reunion special for the network.
