Sony Pictures Television Marketing Unleashes Ultimate "Breaking Bad" Fan Campaign

Collectible Fan Art Campaign Underway with New Posters and Collectible Items Unveiled

Season Five of Critically-Acclaimed Series Premieres July 15 on AMC

"Breaking Bad: The Complete Fourth Season" Now Available on DVD and High-Def Blu-ray Disc(TM)

CULVER CITY, Calif., June 27, 2012 -- Sony Pictures Television announced today that its worldwide marketing group has teamed up with comedian Paul Scheer and Gallery1988's Jensen Karp to create the ultimate collectible campaign for fans that will lead into "Breaking Bad's" season five launch on July 15 on AMC and beyond, up until the season finale in September.

The eighteen-week worldwide campaign, kicked off by comedian Paul Scheer, underway now, features sixteen secret events and clues that are being unveiled on BreakingGifs.com. These clues give fans hints about the date/time/location where the next "Breaking Bad" limited edition poster giveaway may be found, and also when the next opportunity to purchase limited edition, collectible show-themed posters on the site may be. Vannen Watches, illustrator Jon Defreest, Kirk Demaris, Mike Mitchell and clothing company The Hundreds are just a few of the names associated with upcoming giveaways.

"This innovative campaign will allow fans to discover and feel a part of 'Breaking Bad' similar to the way they discovered it. Providing fans with a piece of the show is the perfect fit for our audience," said Kendra Moore, Executive Director, U.S. Marketing, Sony Pictures Television.

Each campaign "moment" can take place anywhere in the world from New Mexico to London, so fans should continue checking BreakingGifs.com in case a local establishment is again taken over, as was the case on May 17 when Michael Voltaggio's Ink.Sack sandwich shop in Los Angeles distributed 'Los Pollos Hermanos' bags and baggies of blue rock candy in homage to the popular television series.

A live performance by DJ Duo The Hood Internet kicked off the campaign on May 9 at Irving Plaza in New York City, where band members came out wearing yellow haz-mat like suits and remixed the show's iconic theme song. Giancarlo Esposito, whose mesmerizing portrayal of Gus Fring won over critics last season, made a surprise appearance at the show, announcing to fans where to find the first collectible poster. The 200 limited prints sold out in 14minutes.

Gallery1988 will host a week-long exhibit in their Hollywood, CA gallery featuring all 16 "Breaking Bad" posters and additional art inspired by the series. The exhibit is scheduled for mid-August and will be open to the public.

Over four seasons, "Breaking Bad" has garnered a total of six Emmys(R) wins; a Peabody Award; it has been named to the American Film Institute's (AFI) list of the "Top 10 Programs of the Year" (2008, 2010, 2011); and been heralded as one of the best TV dramas on television. Filmed on location in Albuquerque, NM, the series stars 2008, 2009 and 2010's Emmy(R) Award winner for Outstanding Lead Actor Bryan Cranston; 2010 Emmy(R) winner for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series Aaron Paul; Anna Gunn; Dean Norris; Betsy Brandt; RJ Mitte; Bob Odenkirk; and Jonathan Banks. "Breaking Bad" is produced by High Bridge and Gran Via Productions in association with Sony Pictures Television for AMC. "Breaking Bad" Season 4 is now available on Blu-ray and DVD.
