TRAVEL CHANNEL GREENLIGHTS SECOND SEASONS OF ORIGINAL SERIES "HOTEL IMPOSSIBLE" AND "BAGGAGE BATTLES"

Network to Premiere Season Three of its Hit Series "The Dead Files" on Friday, August 10

CHEVY CHASE, MD (June 28, 2012) - Following the success of the premiere seasons of Travel Channel's original series "Hotel Impossible" and "Baggage Battles," the Network has greenlit production for second seasons of both hit shows. "Baggage Battles" will begin filming 14 half-hour episodes in July, and "Hotel Impossible" will begin filming 13 one-hour episodes next month as well. Additionally, a third season of Travel Channel's popular original paranormal investigative series, "The Dead Files," will premiere on Friday, August 10 at 10:00 p.m. ET/PT.

"Our mission is to continue to provide our viewers with new original series that re-imagines the travel experience," said Andy Singer, General Manager, Travel Channel. "These series allow our viewers to experience travel from a completely original perspective, giving them a peek behind the curtain through a fresh and unique lens."

Season two of "Baggage Battles" brings back the savvy "auction experts" viewers met in the first season: Laurence and Sally Martin, a married couple who co-own Studio Antiques in El Segundo, California; Mark Meyer, a young entrepreneur from Long Island, New York who owns The Nifty Thrifty store; and New York City's Billy Leroy, owner of the iconic Billy's Antiques and Props, one of the last eclectic props and antique stores. The new season will continue to follow these shrewd experts as they trust their keen eye for detail to find forgotten treasures and hidden finds at the top auctions around the world. New episodes from season one are currently premiering Wednesdays at 10:00 p.m. ET/PT through the end of July.

The second season of "Hotel Impossible" will continue to transform struggling and under-performing hotels into bustling tourist destinations through the help of hotel "fixer" Anthony Melchiorri. After secretly scouting each property, Melchiorri identifies its biggest problems and then meets with the staff and owners to determine its key operation issues. As in last season, Melchiorri has just days to formulate a plan, revamp the hotel and re-motivate its staff. For some hotel owners, this is their last hope. New episodes from season one are currently premiering Mondays at 10:00 p.m. ET/PT through the beginning of August.

Travel Channel's paranormal investigative series, "The Dead Files" premieres its third season on Friday, August 10 at 10:00 p.m. ET/PT with 12 all-new hour-long episodes. The new season features retired NYPD Homicide Detective Steve DiSchiavi and medium Amy Allan as they travel to new cities and towns throughout America, continuing to solve the unexplained disturbances and phenomena in each location. The two approach every case from their specific areas of expertise, combining their unique and often-conflicting skills to solve each unexplained mystery they encounter. DiSchiavi and Allan's methods and findings remain hidden from each other to preserve the integrity of their findings, until the shocking results are revealed to the client in the compelling, undeniable and often terrifying conclusion. This season, the dynamic duo travels to a variety of locations including Huntington, WV; Joliet, IL; Carmel, NY; Rome, GA; and Garrett, IN.
