NBC'S "POWERED BY THE PEOPLE" CAMPAIGN TEAMS WITH NEW YORK'S TRANSPORTATION ALTERNATIVES FOR A FREE ADVANCE SCREENING ON SEPTEMBER 4 OF NBC'S NEW ACTION DRAMA "REVOLUTION" POWERED BY ON-SITE BICYCLISTS

SCREENING RESULTS FROM NATIONWIDE VOTING CONTEST ON FACEBOOK THAT REWARDS TOP-10 CITIES WITH ADVANCE SCREENINGS

WHO: NBC's "Revolution"-- including series star Tim Guinee ("Iron Man"), who will be one of the power pedalers.

WHAT: NBC celebrates the debut of its new action drama "Revolution" with a free advance screening -- hosted by TV host Cat Greenleaf -- in New York and in partnership with New York's leading transportation advocacy organization, Transportation Alternatives (TA), to shine a light on alternative energy and create an event that is truly "Powered by the People." TA's mission is to advocate for bicycling, walking and public transit, and their efforts all over the city have helped create new bike lanes, safer, cleaner public transportation and a vibrant culture of street life. TA site: http://www.transalt.org/ This event and other free advance screenings across the country follow selections made via a social media voting campaign on the series' Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/Revolution/app_329103373849395

WHERE: The New York screening will take place at the notable Hudson River Park's Pier 57 (at West 15th Street). The screening will take place for 1,000 guests and will be "Powered by the People" as 80 power pedalers will dramatically pedal bicycles that will manually generate power to support the screening. Leading up to the September 4 event, members of the public are being invited to join the "power pedaler" team on-site and help power up the screening. In addition, power up brand ambassadors with power packs will scour the city as they charge up electronic devices and promote the screening and series. Guests are encouraged to bike or walk to the screening and bike valet will be provided.

WHEN: Tuesday, September 4, 7:30 p.m.

SERIES DESCRIPTION: What would you do without it all? In this epic adventure from J.J. Abrams' Bad Robot Productions and "Supernatural's" Eric Kripke, a family struggles to reunite in an American landscape where every single piece of technology -- computers, planes, cars, phones, even lights - has mysteriously blacked out forever. A drama with sweeping scope and intimate focus, "Revolution" is also about family -- both the family you're born into and the family you choose. This is a swashbuckling journey of hope and rebirth seen through the eyes of one strong-willed young woman, Charlie Matheson (Tracy Spiridakos, "Being Human"), and her brother Danny (Graham Rogers, "Memphis Beat"). When Danny is kidnapped by militia leaders for a darker purpose, Charlie must reconnect with her estranged Uncle Miles (Billy Burke, "The Twilight Saga"), a former U.S. Marine living a reclusive life. Together, with a rogue band of survivors, they set out to rescue Danny, overthrow the militia and ultimately re-establish the United States of America. All the while, they explore the enduring mystery of why the power failed, and if - or how - it will ever return. The series also stars Anna Lise Phillips ("Animal Kingdom"), Zak Orth ("Romeo + Juliet"), JD Pardo ("A Cinderella Story"), Giancarlo Esposito ("Breaking Bad"), David Lyons ("The Cape"), Maria Howell ("The Blind Side"), Daniella Alonso ("Friday Night Lights"), Tim Guinee ("Iron Man") and Elizabeth Mitchell ("Lost"). Kripke, Abrams and Bryan Burk ("Lost," "Star Trek") serve as executive producers, and Jon Favreau ("Iron Man," "Iron Man 2") serves as co-executive producer. "Revolution" is produced by Bonanza Productions Inc. in association with Bad Robot Productions, Kripke Enterprises and Warner Bros. Television. The pilot was directed by Favreau.

TUNE-IN: "Revolution" will debut on Monday, September 17 (10-11 p.m. ET) after "The Voice" on NBC.
