Georgeville Television Teams Up with "X-Files" Creator Chris Carter on "The After"

Sierra/Engine Television to handle international distribution

LOS ANGELES, CA - October 4, 2012 - Independent TV studio, Georgeville Television (GVTV) is pleased to announce it has teamed up with The X-Files creator Chris Carter to finance a new television series entitled, THE AFTER. The series will debut at this month's MIPCOM gathering where newly formed Sierra/Engine Television will be representing the project.

Written by Carter, THE AFTER is a thriller which revolves around a mysterious, unexplained event. Story incorporates elements of science fiction, suspense, and real-world fear and paranoia which fans of The X-files will appreciate as Carter's hallmark.

"We are thrilled to be working with Chris," said Marc Rosen, CEO, Georgeville Television, "This is going to be a fantastic ride - one that only he could conceive - and the secrets, twists, and turns are a fan's dream. Chris has woven his mythology magic within a very human, grounded story about the moment when we realize all of our worst fears about the world and its future."

"Chris Carter's vision has impacted the global television business for 20 years with The X-Files and being part of his latest big budget project is a tremendous honor," commented Chris Philip, CEO Sierra/Engine Television.

GVTV is also financing a remake of the cult UK sci-fi series Blake's 7 with feature director Martin Campbell (Casino Royale) for SYFY in the U.S, as well as a recently-announced series debut for the Wachowski's (The Matrix) entitled Sense8.

As previously announced, Sierra/Engine is also handling the international distribution for GVTV's projects including the NBC pirate drama Crossbones and Hunters, a thriller at ABC - both projects are direct to series orders.

One of the most successful cult TV shows of all time, The X-Files became the biggest one-hour drama in Fox's 20-year history, taking the fledgling network from last place to a regular competitor for primetime Neilsen ratings and major demographics. Over the course of the entire 9-season run -- 202 episodes --The X-Files averaged over 14 million viewers per episode. The X-Files played and continues to play in 90 countries worldwide, including England, Spain, France, Italy, Holland, the Benelux nations and Portugal; in Japan, Indonesia, Russia, Israel, Egypt, South Africa, India, Pakistan and Taiwan; in Latin American markets like Mexico, Brazil, Chile, Argentina and Venezuela.
