New York, NY - DATE - IFC is kicking off the new year with the return of the Emmy-nominated hit series Portlandia on Friday, January 4, 2013 at 10:00pm ET/PT with two all-new back-to-back episodes launching the ten episode series.

Fred Armisen and Carrie Brownstein return with their wonderfully unique rendering of Portland, OR. This season, they'll be joined by a slew of notable new guest stars including Chloë Sevigny as Fred and Carrie's new roommate, and returning favorites such as Kyle MacLachlan as Portland's lovable Mayor. A first look clip from the new season is available now at http://www.ifc.com/portlandia/videos/portlandia-meditation-crush.

Fans will also get an all-new pre-season bonus episode titled "Winter in Portlandia" airing Friday, December 14, 2012 at 10:30pm ET/PT, which will also be available on IFC.com, the Portlandia Facebook page and iTunes the next day. In this additional episode, Fred and Carrie reveal a Portlandia season fans have never seen before... wintertime. Bohemian couple Peter and Nance struggle to keep off winter weight, Candace's son visits the feminist bookstore during the holidays and artisan curators Bryce and Lisa offer a winter vacation at their newly opened Outlet Hotel.

The Portlandia Co-Op opens its doors today on IFC.com in an effort to rally fans and reward their avid posting, liking, Tweeting, crafting and Pinning about all things Portlandia. Fans can sign up at http://www.ifc.com/co-op to join the Portlandia Co-Op. Co-Op members can apply to take over the Portlandia Twitter handle, post art or images inspired by Portlandia on Instagram using #portlandia, or create handmade Portlandia coffee sleeves.

Command of the Portlandia Twitter feed will rotate to a new fan each week, chosen from online applicants. To commemorate fans' Portlandia-influenced artwork, IFC will commission an artist to create a poster inspired by the images, which will be placed on outdoor and print ad space nationwide. Lastly, IFC will be purchasing hand-made coffee sleeves from Co-Op participants (up to 20 sleeves per crafter) and will distribute them throughout independent coffee shops across the country. All participating Co-Op members will receive a screen-printed version of the fan-inspired Portlandia poster.

Shot entirely on location in Portland, OR, Portlandia is co-created and co-written by Fred Armisen, Carrie Brownstein and Jonathan Krisel, who is also the series director. Portlandia is executive produced by Lorne Michaels and produced by Broadway Video.

Portlandia: A Guide for Visitors, will be released by Grand Central Publishing on November 13. Available wherever books are sold.
