MTV Cancels "The Inbetweeners"

LOS ANGELES (thefutoncritic.com) -- MTV has canceled its freshman comedy "The Inbetweeners."

"While we won't be moving forward with another season of 'The Inbetweeners,' we enjoyed working with the show's creators and such a talented, funny cast," the network said in a statement to Deadline.com.

The show's 12-episode run, which concluded earlier this month, averaged a very modest 616,000 viewers and a 0.3 rating among adults 18-49. Said numbers fell short of its lead-in "Ridiculousness" (1.086 million viewers, 0.5 adults 18-49 rating), which was picked up for a third season in September.
