Science Channel takes an in-depth look at the massive drama of the microscopic insect world - and explores why our humans depend on its survival - with two world premiere specials this March.
In INSECT AUTOPSY (1x60), Science Channel strips back the exoskeleton to uncover the blueprint of insect global domination. Outnumbering us 200 million to one, insects thrive where humans wouldn't last minutes. Without bugs, ecosystems would collapse, crops would disappear, and waste would pile high. INSECT AUTOPSY premieres on Monday, March 11 at 10PM ET/PT on Science Channel.
PLANET ANT (1x60) imagines if we could supersize a child's ant farm and re-create a mature ant colony. Science Channel is taking on the challenge in order reveal a sophisticated ant colony's inner workings in a way never shown before. Entomologist Brendan Dunphy guides viewers through the amazingly intricate hierarchy and social structures of ant societies; exposing how such a basic species can achieve such spectacular feats of coordinated power?
